Before Guo Pu could make a name for himself, his mother died. Guo Pu chose a seemingly ordinary piece of land to bury his mother. The land is often flooded during the summer when there is plenty of rain. At that time, many feng shui masters thought that this place was not suitable, but Guo Pu was unmoved and stuck to his choice. After a few years, the sand and soil piled up, the flood water no longer rose, but receded, and the dozens of miles around the cemetery gradually turned into mulberry fields. This incident made Guo Pu famous, established his high status in the feng shui world, and attracted many people to consult him about the location of the cemetery.

Once, Emperor Jin Yuan met a villager at the foot of the mountain who was burying a dragon's horn, so he stepped forward and asked: "Why do you bury this dragon's horn? The villager replied: "It was Mr. Guo Pu who instructed me to do this, and he said that he would be able to see the Son of Heaven in less than three years by burying the dragon's horn here." After hearing this, Emperor Jin Yuan secretly thought that his trip today did not meet Guo Pu's prophecy. I deeply admired Guo Pu's talent, and I was determined to find him and ask him to choose an auspicious cave for himself, so that he could continue to enjoy glory and wealth in the next life. It is not known whether Guo Pu ever chose a burial site for Emperor Jin Yuan, but he did choose an ancestral grave for an official named Changyu.
When Changyu's great-grandfather died, he invited Guo Pu to come to the site. Guo Pu chose two good places for him and asked him to choose by himself: "If you bury your great-grandfather in the first place, you can enjoy a hundred years of life, and you will be the third official, but your children and grandchildren may not be prosperous." If you choose the second place, although the number of life expectancy is halved, and the official position ends at the school, the future generations will be noble. After hearing this, Zhang Yu did not hesitate to choose the second place, and later his descendants were really prosperous.
However, despite his brilliant life, Guo Pu eventually suffered misfortune because of his friend. He once said to his friend Huan Yi: "When you come to my house, you can go straight to the inner room at any time, but don't enter my toilet, otherwise you and I will be in great trouble." Huan Yi didn't take this to heart, and after getting drunk once, he strayed into the toilet of Guo Pu's house, only to see Guo Pu "spreading naked and holding a knife", I don't know what kind of spell he was casting. Guo Pu was shocked when he saw Huan Yi and said: "Both of us will suffer." Soon, Wang Dun rebelled and asked Guo Pu for divination, but the result was unlucky. Wang Dun was furious and killed Guo Pu.
The fate of this outstanding feng shui master is similar to that of Zhuge Liang. Although they can all see the future, they will not escape in the end, which is perhaps the most logical fate for these outstanding people.
