The once obscure corner has now turned into a high-profile "check-in point" in the community. The Party Committee of Dafapu Community, Bantian Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen, cleverly used idle corner plots to build them into a "back garden" and "back vegetable garden" within the reach of the masses, so that the community environment took on a new look.
Since the beginning of this year, the social workers of the East and West Party and the masses, together with party members, volunteers, property management and other co-construction units, have carried out a series of activities to jointly build and share gardens and vegetable gardens, making it not only the "side gate" of the community, but also the "Maillard Shared Garden" in the hearts of residents. Every day, it attracts many residents for leisurely walks, photo shoots and community activities.
Co-construction, leading the linkage to build a garden under the leadership of party building
On April 20th, the Dafapu Community Shuidoukeng Party and Mass Service Station was very lively. Nearly 50 people from the community, party members, property owners, volunteers, and parent-child families gathered together and were busy in the base of "shared garden" and "shared vegetable garden". Everyone rolled up their sleeves, picked up hoes, and carefully planted various flowers such as trumpets, jasmine, hydrangeas, phalaenopsis, rhododendrons and other flowers in the garden, forming a beautiful scenery of a hundred flowers blooming. Residents have moved their potted plants to the garden and are actively applying to join the gardening service team to contribute to this green land.
Children also played an important role in this project, picking up paintbrushes and paints and painting on discarded tires, adding lively colors to the garden. The vegetable patch behind the party-mass service station has also been neatly divided and planted with various vegetables. In the near future, this vegetable patch will be beautifully decorated with a variety of fresh vegetables. Residents said they were very happy and excited to eat the vegetables they had grown.
Consultation to stimulate the enthusiasm for autonomy through joint construction and joint management
It is understood that a few months ago, this shared park was still an empty land. The community party committee put forward the innovative concept of "sharing garden" to transform idle vacant land into a planting paradise for residents, which not only satisfies the residents' yearning for farming life, but also effectively solves the problem of planting public vacant land.
In the process of implementation, the community gave full play to the role of the platform, through the establishment of a consultation platform, residents participated in the management and planning of the garden and vegetable garden, and actively put forward suggestions for the construction of the garden. Everyone brainstormed and discussed, used "small integrals" to leverage the "big energy" of autonomy, and used "small conventions" to explore the "optimal solution" for maximizing the use of public space, so as to realize the "closed loop" of residents' autonomy.
Sharing, sharing the results of self-governance with residents' self-evaluation
In addition, the community also actively excavates and cultivates planting experts, sets up forest rangers and vegetable farmers, and carries out volunteer service activities, so that the idle farmland can be revitalized and the residents love the land more. In addition to meeting the planting needs of residents, the "sharing garden" also carries more social responsibilities.
The community uses the vegetable garden as a caring vegetable garden for the elderly in need, providing them with fresh vegetables. At the same time, it has also become a base for children's science popularization, allowing them to increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons in the process of getting close to nature. By integrating various resources and promoting the development of public welfare activities, the community will implement the heart-warming action and turn the "blocking point" of governance into a "bright spot".
The creation of the "Neighborhood Joy Garden" has introduced an autonomous model of co-management and sharing by the party members and the masses, and effectively promoted the self-management, self-service and self-education of the party members. Through joint participation in the construction of the "Neighborhood Joy Park" project, the awareness of party members and the masses of green protection has been significantly improved, and the concept of "green" is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
