On the south side of the Lilac Building on Jiangsu Road Street, there was originally a public area that no one cared about, but through the self-governance of residents, this area has been built into a lilac rest corner in recent years. Recently, with the support of the street, Huashan Residential Area has worked with social organizations in the jurisdiction to slightly renew the rest corner, so that residents have a new outdoor healthy activity space.

It is understood that the Lilac Building in Huashan residential area was built in the 90s of the 20th century, and with the passage of time, the proportion of elderly residents has increased year by year, and the problem of aging has become increasingly prominent. "I was very uncomfortable to see the elderly faltering and having a narrow range of activities, so I made up my mind to expand the public space in the community. According to Pan Zhige, Secretary of the General Party Branch of Huashan Residential District, in 2022, the neighborhood committee will extensively listen to the opinions of residents, carefully make a self-made design plan, and jointly build a 1.0 version of the "Lilac Rest Corner" on the south side of the Lilac Building. In order to further improve the use function of the area and enhance the willingness of residents to use, Huashan Residential Area has recently joined hands with social organizations in the jurisdiction to carry out a micro-update of version 2.0 of the rest corner.

"There are too few chairs in the rest corner, can you add more?" "There are fewer plant species, can you replant more?" "It is recommended to install fences"...... In the latest round of renewal of the Lilac Rest Corner, the project team convened representatives of the neighborhood committee, the property committee and residents to carry out on-site visits and on-site investigations in the form of "everyone and everyone discusses" to gain an in-depth understanding of the residents' needs and expectations for the "Rest Corner", and to make multiple rounds of adjustments and improvements to the beautification plan.

With the planting concept of "beautiful flowers, delicious vegetables, picked fruits, and medicines around you", the project team actively joins hands with caring agricultural and forestry enterprises to ensure that seasonal plants can be replaced normally. Residents have also sent their own flowers and plants, adding more color to this green space. Today, marigolds, osmanthus trees, mint, plum, wheat winter and other native flowers and plants bloom here, forming a beautiful picture of harmonious symbiosis.

At the same time, the project team carried out a comprehensive beautification of the planting area, fitness area, trail area and wall through a series of measures such as adding rest seats, installing publicity boards of the Autonomous Convention, adding wooden grilles and plant science signs, and repainting the walls, so as to turn residents' suggestions and ideas into reality. "In this cozy 'little park', we seniors sit down to bask in the sun and chat, and our hearts are so comfortable!" said a resident of the Lilac Building. The renovated "Rest Corner" has not only become an ideal place for residents to exercise and relax, but also an "outdoor living room" for neighbors to interact and communicate.

In recent years, Lilac Building has successfully set up a greening autonomous group through self-recommendation and mutual recommendation by residents, and more than 20 enthusiastic community greening volunteers are responsible for the maintenance of green plants in public areas. With the theme of "Building a Better Future, Planting Hope", the greening autonomous group made full use of the existing greening resources in the community and carefully planned a series of colorful activities, such as the launch of flower and plant science popularization classes, parent-child planting practices, and plant handicraft production at the time nodes such as Arbor Day, winter and summer vacations, etc., attracting more and more residents to join the greening autonomous team.

According to reports, other public areas of the Lilac Building are also planted with various green plants such as hydrangea, windmill jasmine, loquat trees, grapefruit trees, and small bamboo forests, creating a green and livable environment for residents. "We organized the children to pick loquat and pomelo together, and gave these fruits to the elderly in the community, and they were very happy when they received them. In addition, we have held planting events that the residents are very happy to participate in. Pan Zhige told reporters that with the continuous advancement of micro-renewal of the community, the perspective of residents has gradually expanded from the family to the public area, and the care and interaction between neighbors have become more and more enhanced. "It is hoped that by building a platform for autonomous activities, residents can continuously improve their sense of ownership and further practice the concept of whole-process people's democracy. ”

It is understood that the micro-update of Lilac Rest Corner 2.0 is a "zero distance" autonomous venture capital project of "one home and one special" service in Jiangsu Road Street. The street said that it will continue to practice the important concept of "People's City", focus on the goal of "Harmony Home, Community Example", deepen the "Yuyuan Dreamer" street community governance brand, encourage social organizations to actively carry out community parent-child family "sharing green plant adoption" activities, promote diversified and multi-age groups to participate in community governance, continuously improve residents' awareness of green protection, and continue to improve the harmony and beauty of Jiangsu communities.
