The breeze is not dry, and the sun is just right in the spring, and the number of tourists who are keen to "check in" in the East Jiadao Hutong of Baitasi is increasing. The blue sky, the red wall, the white tower, and the flying pigeons have become the iconic scenery of the alley. However, in the past few days, there are two more "check-in" points in the depths of the alley, allowing an endless stream of tourists to stroll through the depths of the alley with a small surprise.
"I originally thought that this was a north-south alley, but when I walked to the corner of the north end of the alley, I found two large painted walls, the real white tower in the west and the white tower on the painted wall in the east. "Up to now, Xinjiekou Street has created 15 boutique streets and alleys, and on this basis, we hope to show the cultural connotation of boutique streets and alleys. Xu Dafang, head of the urban management section of Xinjiekou Street, said: "Through the painting on the street wall, the publicity board, and the creation of public leisure areas, the different cultural connotations of different locations in the new street are displayed, so that residents can have a greater sense of identity and belonging to 'home'." ”

The former Taoyuan Hutong is located in the street building area, with a total length of about 240 meters, and the current street party building leads the "See Taoyuan again" plan, through residents' consultation and deliberation, and at the same time mobilizes the strength of the district units to participate, after comprehensive management, reproduces the history of the block, reshapes the Taoyuan culture here, dresses up the block park, and creates a beautiful livable environment for the community residents, while realizing the cultural empathy and emotional resonance of the residents living here.
Zhang Xiaolei said: "Through communication with the street and community, and through conversations with old residents, we have excavated many historical stories of the former Taoyuan Hutong, and put maps of this Hutong in different periods into the display column, so that residents can see the changes of the Hutong at a glance. At the same time, the logo on the display wall of the alley is designed in peach, creating a small romantic atmosphere of 'peach blossoms blooming', and pictures of photography, painting and other competitions carried out by the community are put into the display board. In addition, the children's play area on the corner of the street, the chairs along the display wall, etc., are full of user-friendly design. ”

The renovation of back streets and alleys is not limited to the improvement of hardware facilities, but more importantly, it is embedded with cultural connotation and highlights the characteristics of the city. In the future, Xinjiekou Street will dig deep into the regional cultural elements and create a poetic habitat through "one street, one product and one feature".
