iPhone 16 series case photo re-exposed: new capacitive photo button

According to past practice, the design of Apple's iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro should now be completed, and the new machine will soon enter the trial production stage from engineering verification. Recently, CNMO learned from foreign media that another set of model drawings of iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max appeared on the Internet. The images reflect two important design change rumors. Firstly, the iPhone 16 does have a vertical camera, and secondly, it does have a new shooting button on the side.

As for another major new design, that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have larger screens, this news cannot be confirmed by leaked model images, since there is no comparison model to use as a reference.

It is reported that the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max case models, show a new layout to protect the cutouts. While the vertical cut-outs for the iPhone 16 camera lens arrangement are to be expected, the cutouts for the new camera's shooting keys hint at something more. Unlike the power button, the new button is not covered by a protective case, but is open.

According to foreign media, Apple has been experimenting with capacitive power and volume buttons on a completely buttonless iPhone for some time, but it has apparently abandoned the project because it is too risky and difficult to implement. However, Apple decided to apply it to a new capacitive button that senses pressure touch sensitivity. Rumor has it that it will be called the Shoot Button, suggesting that it has something to do with camera controls.

As for why Apple would make the capacitive buttons also have a pressure-sensitive function, no one can say for sure. Rumor has it that this may have something to do with the picture and video shooting modes or zoom controls, as the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are expected to be equipped with Apple's quadrismatic camera, and the optical zoom capabilities will be improved in tandem.
