In order to create a clean and comfortable living environment, encourage the majority of families to practice garbage classification, actively promote the publicity and education of household domestic waste classification knowledge, and improve the ability of domestic waste classification with families as a unit. On April 17, the Community of the Steel Road Office joined hands with the Women's Federation of Huimin District to carry out a centralized publicity activity of garbage classification into families in our old center with the theme of "Four Steps of Garbage Classification, Green Families You Have".
The event invited the residents of our community to participate in it, and the community staff popularized the knowledge of garbage classification for everyone by playing garbage classification promotional videos and PPT displays. The promotional video explains the various forms of residents' daily garbage disposal, telling that garbage can be divided into four categories: kitchen waste, hazardous waste, other garbage, and recyclables, and also lists newspapers, scrap metal, etc. as recyclables; waste water silver thermometers, waste rechargeable batteries, etc. as hazardous garbage; leftovers, dead branches and leaves and other corrosive kitchen waste; toilet paper, napkins, cigarette butts, etc. as other garbage. Through PPT, the importance of garbage classification, why garbage classification, what is garbage classification, the current situation of garbage disposal, how to classify garbage and the knowledge of classification in daily life are introduced in detail.
Subsequently, our community also carefully prepared a prize quiz and interesting game session, and prepared degradable classified garbage bags and portable cloth bags as prizes, which stimulated the interest of residents to participate in garbage classification while entertaining and educational, so that the residents who came to participate in the event learned the relevant knowledge of garbage classification in a happy atmosphere. "It is very meaningful for the community to hold such an event, I used to think that all food waste belongs to kitchen waste, but I didn't expect that difficult to corrode such as big sticks and bones actually belong to other garbage, and in the future, these hard and difficult to corrode will have to be separated and thrown into other garbage cans," said resident Wu Damiang.
After the indoor activities, our community staff and the Women's Federation of the Huimin District carried out door-to-door publicity, and the women volunteers let the residents master the knowledge and methods of garbage classification in a face-to-face way, and at the same time, they also distributed garbage classification brochures to the residents, so that the residents can further understand the significance of garbage classification. Encourage residents to start from themselves, insist on doing a good job in garbage classification, and strive to drive the people around them, so as to continuously improve the awareness of residents to consciously care for environmental sanitation, develop a good habit of garbage classification, and let garbage classification work enter thousands of households and into the hearts of residents. During the publicity process, volunteers also checked the classification of garbage cans in residents' homes, answered the daily garbage sorting problems raised by residents, and encouraged residents to start from themselves and insist on doing a good job in garbage classification. The development of the activity has increased the awareness and participation of residents in the classification of domestic waste, further enhanced the residents' awareness of green environmental protection, and greatly stimulated the enthusiasm of residents to practice garbage classification.
The person in charge of the community said that through this activity, it is first necessary to let residents realize the importance of garbage classification, and understand that garbage classification should start from themselves and every household, so as to benefit future generations. In the next step, our community should continue to increase its efforts to publicize in the form of "four steps of garbage classification", so that everyone can take action and let every household strive to be a green family.
