Founded in 1987 as the secondary schools of the college, the School of Political Science and Law and the School of Intellectual Property of Sichuan University of Arts and Sciences are one of the earliest teaching units of the college to recruit undergraduate majors. After years of development, the School of Political Science and Law and the School of Intellectual Property now have 40 full-time teachers, including 18 with senior professional titles, 11 with doctoral degrees, and 8 teachers with "double teachers and dual abilities". The college offers four undergraduate majors: Ideological and Political Education, History, Administration and Intellectual Property, and currently has 1,066 students. In addition, the college also has an intellectual property training base in Sichuan Province and a number of key research bases at the municipal and departmental levels. The faculty of the college has also made fruitful achievements in scientific research, and has undertaken 6 national social science fund projects, more than 20 provincial and ministerial social science fund projects, more than 70 municipal and departmental projects, published more than 30 academic monographs and textbooks, published more than 400 academic papers, and won 46 awards for scientific research achievements.
