Gu Yu: An ancient poem with a very high sense of luxury, writing the beauty of solar terms

01.

Time always flies quickly, and in a flash, it will be the valley rain of the twenty-four solar terms.

This is the last solar term of spring, which means that it will be summer in more than half a month.

The name "Gu Yu" comes from the ancients' saying that "rain gives birth to a hundred grains", and once it rains, the rain begins to be abundant, which is conducive to the growth of crops.

Therefore, there is a proverb in ancient times: before and after the rain in the valley, plant melons and beans.

After the weather warms up, the flowers are in full bloom, and the April day in the world is the best time of the year.

In the folk, there are customs such as drinking Guyu tea, appreciating peonies, sacrificing Cangjie, eating spring, sacrificing to the sea, walking Guyu, Guyu stickers, and appreciating flowers in the Guyu season.

The 24 solar terms are a romantic calendar, which interprets the harmony between the starry sky and the earth.

On this day, the ancients had a lot of splashes of ink, leaving many classic poems, and today we read a poem by Yuan Zhen.

Valley, rain, spring, light, and blue.

The hoopoe is heard between the leaves, and the duckweed grows in the water.

Silkworm ants are born in the warm house, and the wind attracts wheat leaves.

The dove flicked its feathers, and the letter was unbearable.

Color: blue-black;

Hoopoe: the name of a bird, also known as "Dai Yu", "Dai Ren", "Dai Xuan", the shape is like a finch, the head has a crown, and the five colors are like Fang Sheng, so it is called;

Noisy wind: that is, warm wind, spring breeze;

葶 (tíng): an annual herbaceous plant with oval fruits;

Yuan Zhen is the only ancient poet who has given poems to each of the "24 solar terms", which provides a good reference value for the study of the changes of solar terms in later generations.

Let's take a closer look at the poem.

The gist of the poem can be interpreted as:

Every time the valley rains, the spring light is like the dawn of the morning sun, fresh and warm, the mountains and rivers are covered with green ink, looking at it from afar, it is beautiful;

The hoopoe bird landed on the branch, cooing and criing, the lake was covered with duckweed, and at a glance, it was an intoxicating green;

The young silkworms in the greenhouse are gnawing on mulberry leaves like ants, and the warm spring breeze allows the grass and wheat seedlings to grow hard, enjoying the sunshine and rain to the fullest;

A dove is arranging its feathers, as if waiting for the arrival of its other half, this is not an imagination, otherwise its mournful cry would make people so unbearable.

The poem of Yuan Zhen well describes the changes in the weather and the earth during the rainy season, the mountains and rivers put on new clothes, the birds chirp non-stop, the lake is full of duckweed, the spring silkworms are chewing mulberry leaves, the breeze is blowing, the grass is swaying, and the wheat waves are rolling.

Spring is a symbol of vitality and prosperity, and all things begin to recover and grow according to the laws of nature.

At the end of the poem, the poet uses anthropomorphism to give a certain imagination: the singing dove is flickering, and the letter is unbearable.

The dove chirps violently, as if to summon its other half, and it arranges its feathers, like a girl putting on delicate makeup to meet the boy she likes.

When the poet heard the lonely chirping of birds, he couldn't bear it, so he imagined it, adding a wonderful interest to the whole poem.

Throughout the poem, it not only accurately writes the characteristics of the solar terms, but also presents a beautiful landscape picture of late spring, especially the blending of scenes, personifying the lonely bird, and making people's thoughts drift away.

Therefore, this poem is worth reading and deeply feeling the romantic season of Gu Yu.
