The seminar on the high-quality development project of science education in primary and secondary schools in Songjiang District was held in Songjiang No. 2 Middle School a few days ago, with the theme of "Science is Endless, Chasing Light to the Stars". In addition to the principals of primary and secondary schools in the district, the event also invited experts and scholars from scientific research institutes, universities and representatives of scientific research enterprises to gather together to discuss the high-quality development of science education and build a "large, medium, small and young" science education system that organically integrates inside and outside the school.
In order to implement the "Opinions of the Ministry of Education and Other Eighteen Departments on Strengthening Science Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era", the "Implementation Measures for Strengthening Science Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in Songjiang District" was officially released by the Songjiang District Education Bureau, together with the District Civilization Office, the District Science and Technology Commission, the District Ecological Environment Bureau, the Youth League District Committee, and the District Association for Science and Technology. Based on the top-level design idea of promoting the spirit of science and the spirit of scientists, and strengthening the co-construction and sharing of scientists' spiritual resources, this measure has established a "science education community in primary and secondary schools" through the establishment of a scientist advisory group, the appointment of off-campus vice presidents for science, and the establishment of off-campus science education practice bases.

The "Concentric Knowledge Lianhui" science popularization project created by the Science and Technology Innovation Committee of the Shanghai Intellectuals Association was also launched at the same time. Duan Shumin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and dean of the Songjiang Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Shen Zhiqiang, director of the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, gave scientist reports on "Frontier Exploration of Brain-Computer Interface" and "The Power of the Starry Sky" respectively. Representatives of students and teachers from primary and secondary schools in Songjiang District also shared their discoveries and achievements in science education.
Scientific instruments are like the "eyes" of scientists, and advances in scientific instruments and experimental techniques help to know and understand the world. As the source of the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta, in recent years, Songjiang has attracted many scientific instrument manufacturing enterprises to take root in Songjiang for development. Many high-quality scientific instrument manufacturers actively provide support for the high quality of science education in primary and secondary schools in the region. At the seminar, Shanghai Tianmei Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd., Shanghai INESA Analytical Instrument Co., Ltd., Shanghai Prism Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Junzhen Life Science Co., Ltd., Shanghai Khan Ling Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and many other enterprises donated gas chromatographs, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometers, intelligent cell analyzers, ultraviolet analyzers, magnetic stirrers and other instruments and equipment to Songjiang No. 2 Middle School to support the construction of school laboratories. Subsequently, the school will strengthen cooperation with enterprises in the development of curriculum and popular science education on the use of instruments.
