According to public information, Mr. Yang Xiaoming, Tibetan, was born on February 22, 1962 in Zhouqu County, Gansu Province.
Seeing this, everyone may wonder why Mr. Yang Xiaoming, who is a Tibetan, has the surname "Yang"?
The reason is very simple, although Mr. Yang Xiaoming is Tibetan, his surname was given by Emperor Zhengde of Ming Wuzong.
When Ming Wuzong gave the surname, it happened to be 1509 AD, which was 515 years ago.
Yes, Mr. Yang Xiaoming's ancestors are also very proven, and his ancestors are the hereditary Zhuoni Tusi family of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The 19th generation of Zhuoni Toast
The history of the Choni Toast family is very long.
As early as the Tang Dynasty, the ancestors of the Zhuoni Tusi family were the hereditary military nobles of the Tibetan Empire.
At the end of the Tang Dynasty, after the fall of the Tibetan Empire, the ancestors of the Zhuoni Tusi family led 16 tribes under their direct jurisdiction to leave today's Tibet and come to the Ruoergai region on the border of present-day Sichuan and Gansu in order to escape the war.
Around the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, the first generation of Zhuoni Tusi "Xuerdi" (Tibetan name transliteration) led his army in a decades-long battle with the 18 tribes of Diebe Dala, who ruled the Tibetan region of southern Gansu today, for the rule of the Gannan Tibetan region.
It was not until 1404 A.D., that is, in the second year of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty, that he finally defeated the 18 tribes of Diebu Dala and became the ruler of the Gannan Tibetan region.
In order to ensure that his family could rule the Gannan region for a long time, he chose to pay tribute to the powerful Ming Empire, hoping to help his family rule the Gannan Tibetan region with the help of the powerful power of the Ming Empire.
In 1418 A.D., that is, the fourteenth year of Yongle of Ming Chengzu, the Ming Empire granted the hereditary commander of Taozhou Wei and the post of general Wude, and he was regarded by historians as the first generation of Zhuoni Tusi.
The rule of Zhuoni Tusi over the Gannan Tibetan region was officially recognized and protected by the Ming Empire.
After that, Zhuoni Tusi has always been the most obedient toast to the Ming Empire in the northwest region, and each generation of Zhuoni Tusi will choose to go to the capital to meet the emperor as soon as possible after succeeding to the throne.

In 1509 A.D., that is, the fourth year of Zhengde of Ming Wuzong, when the fifth generation of Zhuoni Tusi Wangxiu entered Beijing to make a pilgrimage to Emperor Zhengde, Emperor Zhengde in order to commend the obedience of Zhuoni Tusi, specially issued a decree to give Zhuoni Tusi family surname Yang, and named the fifth generation Zhuoni Tusi Wangxiu Yang Hong.
From 1509 onwards, the Chinese surname of Zhuoni Tusi was Yang.
After the Ming Empire was replaced by the Qing Empire, the Qing Empire continued the policy of the Ming Empire and continued to recognize the rule of Zhuoni Tusi over the Gannan Tibetan region.
Not only that, in 1710 AD, that is, in the forty-ninth year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi, the ancestor of the Qing Dynasty, also specially canonized the younger brother of Zhuoni Tusi as a monk as a "great teacher".
In modern times, the Zhuoni Tusi family is full of talents.
Founding Colonel Yang Fuxing
First of all, Yang Jiqing, the 19th generation of Zhuoni Tusi, took the initiative to send food and medicine to the Red Army of the Long March, and properly resettled the stragglers of the Red Army in the Tibetan area of Gannan, known as the "Red Tusi".
Yang Jiqing's youngest son, Yang Fuxing, the twentieth generation of Zhuoni Tusi, was awarded the rank of colonel in 1955, when he was only 26 years old and was the youngest "founding colonel" of the People's Liberation Army.
One more digression here, Colonel Yang Fuxing's father-in-law is the ninth and tenth Prince of Zasak Heshuo of the Mongolian Alxa Banner of the Qing Dynasty, and his mother-in-law is called Yun Hui, she is the youngest daughter of the half-brother Zai Tao of the Guangxu Emperor of the Qing Dynasty.

Seeing this, some friends may find it strange that Zhuoni Tusi is located in Zhuoni County, Gansu, and Yang Xiaoming was born in Zhouqu, which is obviously not a place.
In fact, when Yang Jiqing took over as the 19th generation of Zhuoni Tusi, Zhuoni Tusi had an area of more than 20,000 square kilometers, including today's Zhuoni County, Diebe County, Zhouqu County and other places, with a population of more than 100,000.
In fact, the inheritance of Zhuoni Tusi is very different from that of the Central Plains Dynasty, and does not follow the tradition of "father dies and son succession" of primogeniture, and in many cases even "brother to brother".
For example, Yang Zuolin, the eighteenth generation of Zhuoni Toast, did not choose his own grandson when choosing his heir, but chose Yang Jiqing, the second nephew, as the nineteenth generation of Zhuoni Toast.
This is also the reason why although Mr. Yang Xiaoming was born in the Zhuoni Tusi family, his family and Yang Jiqing and Yang Fuxing father and son can only be regarded as distant relatives.
Although Yang Xiaoming was born in Zhuoni Yang's family, he was no different from many of his peers at that time, and because of the times, he joined the work early.
At the beginning, Yang Xiaoming studied car repair in the third geological team of Gansu Province.
To tell the truth, this job was already very good in the 70s of the 20th century, and the fact that he was born in the Zhuoniyang family also played a role in it.
After all, two generations of Zhuoni Tusi have actively supported the central government, which can be called a model and example for the Patriotic Land Division.

After the resumption of the college entrance examination, Yang Xiaoming took the college entrance examination for two consecutive years, and was finally admitted to the Minority Preparatory Department of Northwest University for Nationalities the following year.
Coincidentally, at this time, Yang Xiaoming's distant uncle Yang Fuxing was serving as the deputy director (vice president) of the Northwest University for Nationalities.
In 1980, Yang Xiaoming was admitted to the Department of Clinical Medicine of Lanzhou Medical College.
After graduating from university, Yang Xiaoming was assigned to work in Lanzhou Institute of Biological Products, where he served as assistant researcher, associate researcher, research team leader, deputy director of the research office, etc., during which he was sent to Japan and the United States for further study, and successively studied at the National Institute of Preventive Health and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
After that, Yang Xiaoming visited the National Institutes of Health as a visiting scholar.
During this period, Yang Xiaoming's ability was appreciated by the director of the National Institutes of Health, who wanted him to stay in the United States, but Yang Xiaoming finally declined the director's offer to return to China to work.
After returning to China, Yang Xiaoming was transferred to Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, and successively served as executive deputy director and director.

In 2010, Yang Xiaoming was appointed as the president of Sinopharm Group;
In October 2013, Yang Xiaoming was appointed as the Chief Engineer and Director of the Industrial Development and Scientific Research Management Department of Sinopharm Group;

In October 2016, Yang Xiaoming was appointed as the chairman of Tiantan Biotechnology;
In 2024, Yang Xiaoming will be investigated on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law.
It is worth mentioning that Yang Xiaoming himself was defeated in the two co-opted elections of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2021 and 2023.
