author:Jinzhong Fire Fighting

At about 15 o'clock on April 15, a parked fuel tanker truck suddenly caught fire in the back mountain of Nanzhuanggou Village, Haobei Town, Yushe County. The Yushe County Fire and Rescue Brigade immediately rushed to the scene to carry out rescue.

Fire and rescue personnel soon arrived at the scene and found that the cab of the tanker truck was in a state of fierce burning, but fortunately there were no casualties at the scene.

According to the situation at the scene, the fire rescue personnel immediately alerted the scene and used foam water cannons to extinguish the fire, and the open flame was quickly controlled. In order to prevent re-ignition, firefighters use the tanker tank to cool down.

Different from ordinary transport vehicles, tank trucks and other hazardous chemical transport vehicles, carrying usually flammable and explosive, toxic and harmful hazardous chemicals, in the process of loading and unloading, storage, transportation and other processes have extremely high operational requirements, Jinzhong fire remind, the following about the fuel tank truck fire safety transportation precautions, we should keep in mind.

6 precautions for safe transportation of fuel tankers

Precautions for controlling combustibles

(1) Oil spillage from tanker storage containers must be prevented. The running, rising, dripping, leaking and spilling of oil in the operation of loading and unloading oil tankers should be removed and dealt with in time.

(2) It is strictly forbidden to pour oil, sludge and waste oil into the sewer for discharge after the tanker unloads the goods, and it should be collected and placed in the designated place for proper disposal.

(3) All flammable materials should be removed from the vicinity of buildings such as oil tanks, warehouses, pump rooms, oil distribution rooms, and oil blending workshops.

(4) The oil-stained cotton yarn, oil rags, oil gloves, oil paper and other materials used in the maintenance and maintenance of the oil tanker should be placed in the iron drum with a lid outside the workshop and removed in time.

Precautions for cutting off the source of fire

(1) It is strictly forbidden to bring matches, lighters or other fires into the oil depot, oil storage area, and oil receiving and sending operation area. Strictly control the flow of fire sources and open flame operations.

(2) Fireworks are strictly prohibited in the oil depot, and when open flames must be used in repair operations, they must be reported to the relevant departments for review and approval, and safety precautions must be taken before starting the fire.

(3) Before the car and tractor are put into storage, a fireproof cover must be added to the exhaust pipe mouth, and the engine must be extinguished immediately after parking, and it is strictly forbidden to overhaul the vehicle in the warehouse, and the engine is not allowed to start during the operation.

(4) When the railway locomotive is put into storage, the isolation car should be hung, the ash box baffle should be closed, and the furnace should not be cleared in the storage area and stay in the non-operation area.

(5) The tanker docked at the pier and said that the use of open flames was strictly prohibited. It is forbidden to bring fire sources on board.

Prevents combustion and explosion caused by electric sparks

(1) All kinds of electrical equipment used in the oil depot and all workplaces must be explosion-proof, and the installation must meet the safety requirements, and the wires shall not be broken, exposed and short-circuited.

(2) It is strictly forbidden to cross high-voltage wires over the oil depot. The distance between the oil storage area and the barreled light oil depot and the power line must be more than 1.5 times the length of the pole.

(3) The rails leading to the oil depot must be insulated in front of the storage port to prevent the external power supply from flowing into the oil depot from the electric sparks.

Prevents metal friction from causing sparks and causing combustion and explosion

(1) Strictly implement the relevant regulations of the warehousing and operation area. It is forbidden to wear spiked shoes or shoes with iron to enter the oil depot, let alone climb oil tanks, oil tankers, oil tank trucks, oil tank cars and step on oil barrels, and it is forbidden for mules, horses and iron wheels to enter the oil depot area.

(2) It is not allowed to use iron tools to knock out the lid of the container, and when opening the lid of the vat and the lid of the tanker, a copper wrench or an alloy wrench that will not spark during the collision should be used.

(3) Metal containers should be avoided from colliding with each other in the warehouse. It is also not possible to roll oil drums without gaskets on the concrete floor.

(4) In the receiving and unloading operation of the oil products of the tanker, it is necessary to avoid the collision of the receiving and unloading crane pipe when inserting and pulling out the tank car port or the tanker hatch. Wherever there is oil and gas, it must not touch the ferrous metal.

Prevents the accumulation of oil vapors from causing combustion and explosion

(1) It is strictly forbidden to repair and weld unwashed oil drums, oil tanks, oil tanks and other storage containers. After washing, the container should be ventilated with a lid before preparing for welding, and a visual explosion should be carried out if necessary.

(2) The barreled light oil products stored in the warehouse should be checked frequently, and the leakage should be replaced in time. Air flow should be maintained in warehouses, sheds and mailrooms for drummed light oil.

(3) Underground and cave oil tank farms should strictly prevent oil leakage, install ventilation equipment, keep good ventilation, and avoid oil and gas accumulation.

Transportation anti-collision and anti-leakage

(1) Try to arrange the outer interface of the tank at the head part of both ends of the cylinder, because this part is not easy to be impacted;

(2) The valve should be built-in as much as possible to reduce the part of the valve protruding from the cylinder and reduce or avoid impact;

(3) The part of the tank truck valve protruding from the cylinder should be protected by a guardrail of sufficient strength to prevent the valve from being impacted;

(4) Install leakage alarms on tankers containing highly and extremely hazardous toxic media at the more concentrated parts of the inlet and outlet valves;

(5) An emergency plugging device should be added to the tanker containing the height and extremely hazardous toxic medium, and emergency plugging measures can also be taken in case of leakage of toxic medium.
