Education is a constant source of hope

author:China Tibet Net

On March 18, General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Hunan First Normal University (Chengnan Academy Campus) in Changsha City, Hunan Province, and profoundly pointed out that if the country wants to be strong, it must do a good job in education. Not long ago, our interview team from Yunnan Tibet went to Mangkang County and Zuogong County in Changdu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, and had in-depth exchanges with each interviewee on the development of education. At the same time, I walked into Yanjing Middle School in Mangkang County and had face-to-face exchanges and interviews with teachers and students, and gained a more specific and direct understanding of the development of education in Tibet and the education concept of ordinary people.

"Knowledge can really change fate, and our family's winemaking has been able to complete the upgrade from a small workshop to a corporatization and then to the use of modern management and technology, because my brother and I have received education. ”

Qu Cuo is the general manager of Zangdong Zhenbao Liquor Co., Ltd., and she is a household name in Mangkang. In addition to being beautiful, Qu Cuo's choice of his life path will give everyone a thumbs up when they hear it. After graduating from university in 2010, Qucuo was admitted to the civil service. In 2014, in order to promote the wines of her hometown, she chose to quit her job and return to the development of the family wine business. "Now, our company has 34 long-term employees of 8 ethnic groups, including Tibetan, Han, Naxi, Yi, Jingpo, Bai, Manchu and Lisu, as well as many temporary workers, and the surrounding villagers like to come to work here. Our wine also sells very well, with an annual income of more than 1,700 yuan. ”

In Qu Cuo's view, today's success is due to the education he and his brother have received. "Knowledge can change fate. Because my brother received an education, after going outside to see, he felt that the small workshop of winemaking at home would definitely not go far, so he decided to invite professional winemaking technology in, and founded Zangdong Zhenbao Liquor Co., Ltd. in 2009. Because I received education, I was able to go out to see more and learn more, and then my thinking has changed a lot, the pattern has gradually opened, and the company has achieved a modern upgrade in terms of management. ”

Qu Cuo said that she usually likes to read biographies, and is often very inspired, thinking about how to enhance the cohesion of the company, how to enhance the sense of belonging of employees, and how to better give back to the society. A few years ago, a student in the next village had difficulty finding her and her brother, and since then, she has become the student's second parent and decided to sponsor her to complete her education. Now, the little girl is a sophomore at Capital Normal University. "At that time, she filled in the college entrance examination and asked for my opinion. Last year, when I went to Peking University to participate in the Forum on Rural Revitalization and China's Terroir Wine Industry, I asked her to have dinner and chat, and I felt that her whole life and the world had changed. I also really feel that it makes great sense for us to do such a thing. Qu Cuo said, the whole person became excited, and kept repeating "Education can really change people" and "Knowledge can really change fate".

"Now even the people in Kakagou are aware of the importance of education. Next to Yanjing Middle School, many parents rent a house to accompany them, which is called semi-boarding, and the children usually eat three meals a day at school, and return to their parents after school in the afternoon. My daughter is the same, she is dropped off at school in the morning and picked up in the afternoon. Some children are too far away from home, or have other difficulties, that is, they are boarding completely, and no matter how difficult it is, they have to study. Qu Cuo said that Tibet now implements 15 years of free education, and children basically do not need to spend money to go to school. However, the company still set up the "Delta Support" inspirational scholarship, which awards scholarships to outstanding students with difficult families every year, so that they can learn with more peace of mind. Damei Yong is the wine brand of Tibetan East Treasure Wine Co., Ltd., which is taken from the source of snow water that breeds grapes in the company's production area - Damei Yong Snow Mountain. Qu Zhen said that drinking water and thinking about the source, we must know how to be grateful and give back.

"In 2022, we sent our niece and brother's daughter to New Zealand to learn winemaking, hoping that she would learn international advanced technology, open her eyes, and come back to make our wines." Qu Cuo believes that his father is the first generation of the family winemaker, his brother is the second generation, she is the third generation, and his niece will be the fourth generation in the future.

"It's good to live in the school, the school has school rules, the teacher comes to discipline, and the parents educate them better, and they can learn to be self-reliant."

When you come to Yanjing Middle School in Mangkang County, the first stop along the counterclockwise direction is the basketball court. At two o'clock in the afternoon, the court was in full swing, and the students were running, jumping, shouting, sweating, and fighting the court. At that moment, we seem to have returned to our youth, to the campus that once cultivated our knowledge, taught us to be brave, and witnessed our growth and struggle.

Walking inside, there are many school uniforms and shoes drying on the railings on both sides of the road. If you look closer, you can see that they are all clean. We can't help but sigh that today's children are more capable than we were then.

In a classroom on the first floor of the teaching building, more than half of the students were studying on their own, and in less than half an hour, students came in one after another, and the classroom was almost full. We sat down next to a female classmate who was memorizing English words to see how she was studying. Her name is Qu Zhen and she lives in Jubarong Township, a seven-hour drive from the school, so she chose a boarding school. Qu Zhen has an older brother at home, who is not in good health and needs to be taken care of by his mother every day, and his sister recruited a son-in-law to come to the door, and the two are busy for the family's livelihood. I want to study, and my family also says that no matter how difficult it is, I must support her to study and go out in the future. When I asked her which course she learned best, she confidently replied that they all learned well, but the Chinese was slightly weaker in comparison. It turned out that she was the first in the class. As for what she wants to do in the future, she said that she has good spatial imagination skills and wants to do design, but the most important thing now is to learn every course well to have a chance to realize her dream.

Seeing that some of the students were memorizing English words and some were learning Tibetan, the three of us happened to know English, Tibetan and German, so we communicated with them separately about their learning experiences. Everyone's eyes widened in curiosity, as if envy and longing. If I didn't have to rush to Zuogong County, I really wanted to communicate with them for a while.

Zuogong County's retired road maintenance workers are afraid of their roots, their eyes are bright, and their voices are loud and high-pitched. He is very satisfied with his own life, and praises National Highway 318 as a golden road and silver road, which facilitates people's lives, promotes communication and development, and as a road maintenance worker, he also receives a salary to support his family. Today, the three grandchildren have grown up, the eldest and second are in the third and second grades respectively, and the third is in the sixth grade. Because his son and daughter-in-law are busy with work on weekdays, the three children are boarding at school. "It's good to live in school, it saves a lot of things, the school has school rules, teachers come to discipline, I think it's better than my parents, I'm addicted to mobile phones at home, and I learned to be self-reliant at school." Afraid of the root said.

"If you have one child at home, you support one child to go to school. If you have two children, you can support both children to go to school. ”

After driving for about two hours from Zuogong County, getting off National Highway 318, and passing through a winding and winding rural road, we came to Dongba Township, which is located in the depths of the Nujiang River Gorge. It is said that in the past, there were five or six big horse gangs in the township, running around on the ancient tea horse road, from Kangding and Dali in the east to Lhasa, and even to Yadong in the west, engaged in long-distance trafficking. The prosperity of caravan commerce and trade, the distribution and transit of materials, also brought about cultural and artistic exchanges and the opening of ideas.

The years are like a song, and the once vibrant picture of the "Ancient Tea Horse Road" has also been sung into the Dongba dwellings we see today. At first glance, the house of the Zeden Langa family is four or five stories high, but when you go in to visit, it is actually only three floors. Zeden Langga said that in the past, when the horse gang built houses, the first floor was used to raise horses, and the height of the floor was higher, and it was passed down from generation to generation. "As the descendants of the horse gang, Dongba people have a congenital business tradition of going south and north, and the life is considered rich, and the money earned is first used to build houses, and on the basis of the previous generation's construction, they are constantly improved, covered and renovated, and some houses have been built for even several generations. ”

Seeing the child playing in the living room on the second floor, about two years old, we asked Zeden Langga, who has built a house like this for generations, and in the future, when the child grows up, do we also hope that he will inherit the ancestral business, stay in Dongba, and continue to build and renovate the family's house? Zeden Langga smiled and said seriously, "That was before, and now parents pay more attention to children's education than building houses, and if they have a child, they will support a child to go to school." If you have two children, you can support both children to go to school. In this way, they will be able to see the outside world in the future, so that they can go further, and we parents can also feel at ease. ”

Seeing that we were still puzzled, Zeden Langga continued to explain that the Dongba people are keen to build houses, which is to inherit the tradition of their fathers, and for him, building a house is just to hope that the child will have a place when he comes back in the future, and does not want him to stay here and not go out.
