Lahu tapestry
In Laodabao, Jiujing Township, Lancang County, Pu'er City, there is a unique traditional skill - Lahu brocade. Lahu brocade has a long history and complex technological processes, and is a valuable cultural heritage of ethnic minorities.
The patterns of Lahu costumes are rich and colorful, based on black colors, embroidered with Lahu elements such as the sun, moon, gourd, and dog's teeth, and the colors are bright. Usually the completion time of a Lahu costume work is related to the size of the work, Lahu satchels (rubbing) take two or three days to complete, and Lahu costumes take days or months to complete.
It is reported that since the establishment of the Lancang Dabaona Agricultural Special Products Farmers' Cooperative in 2017, it has developed more than 10 members, driven more than 50 farmers to engage in Lahu brocade, and increased its per capita income by more than 4,000 yuan.
With the development of the integration of culture and tourism in the scenic spot, more and more tourists are attracted by this exquisite craft, which also increases the income channels of the villagers. Nowadays, the villagers have been continuing the traditional brocade weaving craft of Lahu weaving, weaving a happy life with "brocade" icing on it.
