You can go along the secondary highway to enjoy the Grand Canyon Geopark, Donggan Wharf, Shengshi Resort and the largest suspension bridge in the northwest - Mercedes-Benzou Bridge (Liujiaxia Bridge), see the Pinghu Lake in the High Gorge, enjoy the sunset of the Yellow River, and feel the beauty of natural ecology; you can also go to the Tangwang Apricot Garden to enjoy the flowers and apricots, watch the broad and profound murals of the Hongta Temple grottoes, see the Danxia landform, and appreciate the colorful and magical Dongxiang. You can not only visit the National Museum, visit the Phoenix Park, taste the national cuisine, experience the quaint and rugged ecological environment and earth-shaking changes in Bulengou Village, but also go to Longdan Mountain of Nale Temple to see the ancient animal fossil sites, go to Dongling to appreciate the "place where the mountains meet", and see the unique style of "earth ribs".
In April, Fangfei, the peak tourist season in Dongxiang officially began. Starting from the Shengshi Tourist Resort, take a speedboat to see the Yellow River in the county, the spectacular Danxia landform and the blue lake reflect each other, the bright red rocks and mountains are tall and straight, the posture is extraordinary, the shape is strange, and the majesty of the northwest and the grace of the south of the Yangtze River are skillfully integrated here. The magical and magnificent "Red Cliff Danya" is a precious gift given by nature to this land, forming a stone pillar and a dangerous landform, the existing Huanglong Shen Claw, Jiandao Mountain, Hongta Temple and other scenic spots are typical representatives. Climb high and look into the distance, you can see the sedimentary bedding of thick and fine interphase on the cow-shaped mountain, the coarse granular "conglomerate" and the fine and uniform "sandstone" under the geological action, form the square mountain with flat top, steep body, gentle foothills, stone walls, stone pinnacles, stone pillars and other dangerous landform forms are widely distributed, and the different mountains and rocks form a scenery with extremely high ornamental value, which is worthy of the name "Red Mountain Park".
In the water area of more than 40 square kilometers in Dongxiang County, the Mercedes-Benz Gou Bridge has become a popular scenic spot in everyone's eyes, attracting many tourists to enjoy the scenery and see the "sea". Climb the steps along the Mercedes-Benz ditch plank road, climb the viewing platform, swim in your arms, the blue waves of Bingling Lake are rippling, and the beautiful scenery of the bridge is majestic and magnificent, which makes people feel refreshed and happy. Against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds, speedboats and steamers pass by from time to time, rowing out a long water wave, which adds a sense of agility to the reservoir area. The nearby mountains stretch into the reservoir area like a "dragon probing claw", and the turquoise water color and the ochre-colored Danxia scenery are perfectly integrated, and when the sun sets, the eyes are full of magnificence.
The natural scenery of the colorful Dongxiang is fascinating, and the history and culture are also long and splendid. There are rich Neolithic painted pottery cultural relics such as Majiayao, Qijia and Xindian in the territory. In particular, the bronze knife unearthed from the Linjia site is the earliest copper casting artifact found in the mainland so far, and is known as "the first knife in China"; the unearthed monkey skull fossil is the only existing skull fossil of "Gansu Vice-long-snouted monkey" in China, which is an important data for studying the geography, climate and ancient animals of the early Quaternary period in the mainland. The discovery of the Xiawangjia site has filled the gap of Paleolithic culture in Dongxiang County and even Linxia Prefecture. There are many kinds of ancient animal fossils buried or unearthed in the area of Nale Temple, and the stock is large, which is rare in the world and very precious.
The artistic style of the Dongxiang people is also unique, the national epic "Milaga Hei", felt-rolling, nailsmith and other skills have been included in the national and provincial intangible cultural heritage list, and the traditional sports stick drawing, embroidery craft and rap music have been passed down for a long time.
The people of Dongxiang have always been known for their simple hospitality and good cooking. The "Dongxiang Hand-Grabbed Mutton", which is tender and tasteless, is favored by consumers and has a strong development momentum, creating the "Dongxiang Tribute Sheep" brand. In addition, the delicious Dongxiang Pinggang mutton, the colorful flower buns, and the big colorful, sweet and less sour Dongxiang Dajie apricots are also well-known in Longshang, capturing people's taste buds.
