AI Learning Note: How Notion, Kimi, and Secret Tower are used in marketing

Foreword: After reading so many AIGC technology trends and analyzing so many AI products, are you like me, or do you still not understand how to use it in marketing practice? How to use AI to solve the problem of difficult and poor writing of product introductions/case content/social media tweets? Also, will AI really replace our work?

To answer these questions, there are no standard answers, no dry goods and shortcuts, only trying. If you don't get started, you will never know how the tool will "work for me".

As a novice to AI, I have recorded my learning process during this time, and I have some superficial thoughts, which may inspire you. Here is the text:

The AI tools I use more frequently are Notion AI, ChatGPT3.5, Kimi Chat, and Secret Tower. Also trying Memo AI, Coze, Canva, Perplexity step by step...

In this article, I'll talk about some of my experiences with Notion, Kimi, and the Secret Tower.

1. AI Concept

The first time I used Notion was to translate a book on English content marketing, and I didn't realize how good it was at the time, and the subjective feeling was that the translation and continuation functions were pretty good, and then it didn't happen.

This year, I happened to see foreign bloggers using Notion to plan their work, organize their reading notes, work collaboratively, and plan their marketing processes. They even put their notes on sale as a digital products subscription, which was an eye-opener for me. For them, Notion is a second brain, and it's a productivity base, and I'm eager to try it.

Just do it and set up my Notion workstation right away.

I didn't expect Notion to be very friendly to me as a beginner, and I didn't know how to start at one point. For example, how to build modules, how to link various projects...

As I got better, I also found two useful features:

1. Save the content on the web to Notion with one click, and then summarize and refine it through Ask AI.

On the one hand, this greatly saves the time of reading lengthy articles, and can be classified and organized, and can be called at any time in the future.

Tips: After installing Notion web clipper, you can open the web page and collect it with pictures and text with one click. Eliminates the need to copy or save as a pdf to send to tools like Kimi. The picture below is my favorite article, click Ask AI to translate or summarize it immediately, which is very convenient.

2. The format of Database is very rich, and it can be turned into tables, kanban boards, and Gantt charts.

The following diagram simply shows a weekly work plan, dragging and dropping to update the progress in real time, which is more convenient and efficient than manual recording or using a notepad.

Such a feature also applies to multi-person collaboration. I think it's very efficient to use it for marketing activities.

I'm also trying to use Notion to design a Campaign template that not only satisfies the content writing, but also integrates all the graphics, content, and workflows together. The benefit of this is that team members can continuously iterate and reuse it, turning experience into process, and greatly improving efficiency.

2. Kimi Chat

Kimi is so popular, I don't know if it's because there are too many people who use it, and I'm often confused.

If you have high requirements for the quality of your answers to questions, you need to use ChatGPT 4.0. I use less of other domestic chatbots such as Wenxin Yiyan, Xunfei Xinghuo, Tongyi Qianwen, and Zhipu AI, so I will try them all next.

Let's talk about how to use Kimi first.

The simplest way to use it is to ask a very general question directly, about the same as a search engine.

For example, "If you don't want to be far ahead, what words do you use to outperform your competitors?" or "What is the impact of artificial intelligence on marketing?"

Kimi's answer to this kind of question is decent. But if you make the problem specific, you will find that the chatbot is still quite "smart".

For example, I made up a prompt and asked Kimi to help me write a summary after reading the WeChat public account:

The results were not bad and met my requirements.

I tried to send Kimi the steps I had written before to write a customer story, and asked him to write a prompt for me, and I optimized it back and forth a few times to get such a template.

After that, I found a case study of enterprise service customers on the Internet and asked him to help me optimize and polish according to the prompt, but I didn't expect that the first document I got was clearer than before, and it stood in the perspective of the value brought to the customer.

Finally, I also asked Kimi to continue to dig deeper into the inspiration brought by this case, but I didn't expect to gain a lot of new perspectives, which is quite pleasantly surprised.

However, what Kimi writes is only for inspiration and is not recommended to use directly. The things written by the machine still lack a little human touch and humor...

3. Secret Tower AI Search

Secret Tower is an AI search tool that is friendly to rigorous academics.

For example, I searched for the value trend brought by AI in B2B marketing in 2024, and completed an article in less than 1 minute, citing literature and public reports from 75 sources.

All citations have detailed sources, and there is a brain map of this article at the back, and you can even quickly generate a PPT.

However, the literature cited in this article is not new enough. For example, when I looked up this topic, the most recent journal turned out to be in 2022.

I tried Perlexity again, and I was able to basically find literature in 2024. But the Chinese search is not as friendly as the secret tower, if the search is in English, the quality is much higher.

If you need to quickly make an industry report or an outline of a white paper, but the timeliness is not very high, the secret tower is an option.

Of the above three tools, Notion can be used as a content and process library for individuals and teams, as well as a management tool for marketing projects, Kimi can help write product introductions, case studies and related documents, etc., and Secret Tower can be used as a source of information such as market insights and white papers.

Everyone try more, at the moment these three tools are free, and the web version is easier to use than the mobile version.

Going back to the previous question, will the work of marketers be replaced by AI?

At the moment, not yet. Our strengths lie in the development of marketing directions based on business strategies, the collection of first-hand information, internal communication, and so on. Although the specific content writing and sorting process can be completed by AI, the final revision and review are inseparable from professional marketing personnel.

The premise is that the marketer is more in contact with the business and thinks more in the daily life, instead of being trapped by repetitive work all day long.

So much for this time, next time we'll talk about Canva AI design posters, ppt and videos, Coza as a marketing bot, and Memo AI video translation analysis.
