It is reported that the case needs to be traced back to the beginning of 2024, and the investigation department of the Immigration Bureau received information from the Philippine security department that the Philippine Customs Department found a package containing more than 10 kilograms of dried marijuana at the end of February, and the source of the package was a logistics company in the Bangkok area of Thailand, and the sender tried to make a profit by selling marijuana in the Philippines, and the local sales price was as high as 975 baht per gram.
After investigation, it was found that there were a large number of Filipinos living in the area where the logistics company was located, so personnel were arranged to go to the area to carry out investigations. It was not until March that the first branch of the Immigration Bureau learned that the sender of the above-mentioned package was a Filipino couple. After inquiry, it was found that the couple had been staying in Thailand for more than 9 years and were now living in a villa in the Bangkok area.
In addition, it is understood that according to the relevant regulations of the Thai Ministry of Home Affairs, the Filipino couple will be included in the list of prohibited persons and will not be able to go to Thailand again for 10 years.
