After Ding Ganren founded Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he hired Cheng Menxue as a faculty member, and at the same time clinically practiced in the Guangyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine he founded.
In 1935, Cheng Menxue set up her own clinic to focus on clinical practice. At this time, he has become a well-known traditional Chinese medicine practitioner in Shanghai, and countless people seek medical treatment every day, curing countless incurable diseases. On one occasion, he saw a critically ill patient who had a high fever and was almost unconscious, alternating with white rash and red rash, and was in critical condition.
Previously, he had been treated in other clinics for more than ten days, and his condition was getting worse and worse. After 16 days of traditional Chinese medicine treatment, Cheng Menxue successively used a variety of methods such as clearing heat and ventilation, clearing qi and blood, clearing the camp and opening the body, nourishing yin and clearing the lungs, cleansing heat and dissolving phlegm, etc., and finally turned the crisis into safety and completely cured.
In addition to the clinical evidence, Cheng Menxue has always insisted on reading classic works such as "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" and "Jin Kui Yaolu", and is familiar with various versions since the past dynasties.
Cheng Menxue has been rigorous in his studies all his life, familiar with the classics, but he never blindly follows, let alone sticks to the provisions. He believes that Zhang Zhongjing's "Treatise on Typhoid Fever" and "Jin Kui Yaolu" in the Han Dynasty are great classics, but due to historical limitations and great changes in the current conditions, there are also some contents that do not conform to clinical practice, which should be corrected.
