Limit over-packaging of tea
The National Standard No. 2 Amendment Order has been issued
Reminder:
On the occasion of the new spring tea, on March 25 this year, the No. 2 modification list of the mandatory national standard GB 23350-2021 "Requirements for Limiting Excessive Packaging of Commodities - Food and Cosmetics" was officially released, and part of the content was implemented when it was released, and the transition period for the implementation of other new and modified contents was 12 months.
The production and sales of tea is a long-term activity, and we would like to remind all relevant entities such as tea production, sales and packaging design enterprises, tea industry associations, and tea markets to pay attention to the following six new changes in a timely manner:

The number of packaging layers for tea and related products has been adjusted from "not more than four layers" to "not more than three layers" required by the current standard;

The production organization of tea and related products with a sales price of more than 200 yuan should control the proportion of packaging cost within 15%, and other production organizations should control the proportion of packaging cost within 20%;

Precious metals and mahogany materials should not be used in the packaging of tea and related products;

The packaging quality of tea, tea products, and flavored tea should not be greater than 8 times the amount of substances inside;

Tea and related products are subdivided into "pressed tea" and "other tea and related products", and the necessary space coefficient (hereinafter referred to as the k-value) of pressed tea products is stipulated to be 9, and the k-value of other tea and related products is 13. However, "Taiping Houkui, Lu'an Gua Pian, Anji White Tea, Wuyi Rock Tea, Yunnan Big-leaf Seed Tea, Dancong Tea, Mao Feng, Baihao Silver Needle, White Peony, Shou (Gong) Mei, Tangerine Peel K Value 20, Leaf and Flower Substitute Tea K Value 60", the content of this clause will be implemented immediately after release.

Products that comply with GB 23350-2021 produced before the implementation date of the amendment order can be sold until the end of the shelf life, and products that have been marketed before December 31, 2021 and are within the shelf life or exempt from the shelf life of labeled products can continue to be sold.
