It can be seen from the seven-year-long trade secret lawsuit between Hytera and Motorola that Hytera did have infringements in the past. In 2017, Motorola filed a lawsuit in a U.S. court, alleging that Hytera hired a Motorola employee with a high salary, who illegally obtained technical documentation and source code before leaving the company, constituting trade secret infringement. In 2020, a U.S. court issued a first-instance judgment requiring Hytera to pay huge compensation.
