Generally speaking, each design project has its own unique conditions, and our definition of a good design generally hopes to be related to the surrounding area, as if growing out of the environment, is the most suitable design for the scene, and it can be regarded as a good design.
However, with the rapid development of our modern social rhythm, in addition to the real estate landscape demonstration area, commercial landscape, and temporary exhibition as a sales prop, there are a large number of leisure display gardens with similar scale and similar spatial functions. Traditional gardens are luxuries, and in daily landscape garden application scenarios, they are often low-cost, reusable, iterative, and can be quickly landed, which is a rigid demand.
Small-scale display gardens are always in higher demand than large-scale projects, but it is not suitable to invest too much energy, after all, it is still necessary to fit its display characteristics. This requires the design and construction team to quickly refine the design requirements, combine the similar functional and tonal requirements, and combine the appropriate construction techniques and materials to refine the design into a "design module" to productize the design.
There is another advantage of using landscape soft decoration product thinking to output products, which means that we deliver a "prefabricated product", reducing the time cost of repeated design.
We all know that in the current market, as long as the landscape design has not been implemented, and there are various problems on the site, the scheme has always needed to be changed, which brings a lot of repeated workload to the designer, and the time cost is extremely uncontrollable.
But if the designer delivers a productized design module, the design is quantifiable. Then, regardless of whether the product is delivered on the ground or not, the work interface and content are clearer and more visible, and the responsibility is more effectively avoided - the designer delivers a single scene module, refusing to use the "master complex" and "professionalism" to ask for modifications in a bottomless pit. (Of course, this is just a beautiful vision)

A "NO SIDE-UP" DESIGN MODULE
"Non-sided" design module
-
The "side-by-side" design module is actually an innovative design concept that emphasizes that during the design process, while the modules themselves may not appear to be directly connected to the specific site environment, through clever design, the modules can be harmoniously integrated with the surrounding environment.
When designing, it is necessary to consider the opening and closing relationship between the module and the surrounding space, appropriately arrange the greening for transitional connection, and pay attention to the fluidity of the space and the interaction of sight.
The design of the scene module should enhance flexibility and adaptability, so that it can adapt to the characteristics of different venues. While maintaining the versatility of the modules, it is also necessary to consider how to reflect the uniqueness of the site through detailed design.
Designing the theme aesthetic elements in the scene can not only strengthen the atmosphere of the scene, but also reuse it as a scene module. Based on the distilled requirements, a reusable "design module" is designed. These modules should be able to adapt to different projects while maintaining some flexibility to accommodate specific environmental conditions.

Even if the module visually looks "out of place" with the environment, it is necessary to form an aesthetic harmony with the surrounding environment through elements such as colors, materials, shapes, etc.

The right technology and materials are used to ensure the implementability and durability of the modules. The realization of the module design should be as far as possible to be able to process all the production in the manufacturer, and it can be completed by quick and simple assembly on site. Avoid too much articulation with the on-site foundation as much as possible. The right technology and materials are used to ensure the implementability and durability of the modules.
Therefore, the "modular landscape" is only suitable for conditions where the site is flat, the surrounding relationship is simple, and there are not too many special conditions.

In the design, the design language of the site itself is integrated, and the color elements that conform to the whole are adopted, so that the module can be integrated into the overall environment of the site in terms of aesthetic composition.

In some project environments, a design with a strong sense of contrast is deliberately created, such as a clean and simple box in a natural and tranquil environment. Its design tonality is also not overly restricted, and this kind of site conditions are also suitable for the use of modular embedded construction methods.

TEMPORARY DISPLAY
Temporary display, quick realization
-
In the temporary display landscape, the strategy of "packaging" aesthetic scenes into product modules needs to consider cost-effectiveness, rapid deployment, and design iteration.
In terms of materials, try to choose lightweight materials that are easy to transport and install, while reducing the impact on the site. Design detachable, reconfigurable modular structures to accommodate changes in different sites and needs.
Design modules that are easy to quickly erect and dismantle to reduce construction time. Make sure the design allows for rapid iteration to adapt to changing presentation needs or feedback. The multi-functional module is designed to adapt to different display content and forms.

Modular thinking makes the box landscape highly variable and iterative. Designers can flexibly adjust the shape, color and position of the box according to the needs and changes of the scene, so that the scene always remains fresh and interesting. This modular design makes the landscape more adaptable and vibrant, providing designers with infinite possibilities.
Located in the heart of Shanghai, the Four Seasons Square Commercial Plaza on Nanjing West Road ushered in a country garden at the beginning of this spring. The owner's capital strategy hopes to provide an urban public space where everyone can gather freely and confidently in this spring season, and call for a more friendly, healthy and environmentally friendly neighborhood atmosphere.
The design uses the concept of "Spring Hill", combining art, greenery and block commerce with natural and environmentally friendly materials, and building a hill in the countryside and nature in the central square of Four Seasons Square, symbolizing the arrival of spring, the birth of all things, and everything originates from nature. Three groups of "hills" of varying heights combine tree ponds, outdoor seating and art exhibitions, which can be enjoyed and rested by passers-by, and feel the spring sunshine with those around them, and the growing greenery and flowers.
After the installation is dismantled, most of the bricks can be removed and given as flower objects, and the rest of the bricks will be recycled again, hoping to continue to track the trend of carbon footprint and practice sustainable design.

A "BIG TOY" FOR CHILDREN
"Big toys" for children to play with in the space
-
Using the "modular landscape" product mindset to create a "big toy" suitable for children to play in needs to take into account factors such as children's play needs, safety, interactivity and educational value. Understand the preferences, behaviours and play needs of children in their target age group. Design interchangeable, scalable, modular structures to suit different spaces and needs.
In the site design of Hangzhou's Qiaoxi child-friendly block, the blocky box device gives people the impression of refining the context of the old block. The colorful landscape installation gives the whole site a new look, and at the same time provides a spatial sequence for children to play and explore.
Hangzhou Qiaoxi Child-Friendly Neighborhood Antao Design
Use bright, attention-grabbing colors while considering the impact of colors on children's mood. Modules with a variety of ways to play are designed to promote children's physical development, cognitive abilities, and creativity.
Choose durable, easy-to-clean materials that are suitable for outdoor environments and frequent use. Make sure the toy is in harmony with its surroundings, such as using natural elements or designing that blends in with the site's landscape.
The modular design of the children's activity theme type should be as adaptable as possible to toys with different site conditions, such as parks, schools or residential areas. Consider the educational function of toys, such as learning basic scientific principles, basic knowledge concepts through play.

SOFT DECORATION MODULE
Stylized themed soft furnishing modules
-
There are many commonalities between the "modular landscape" product thinking and the stylized thematic soft decoration modules, both of which emphasize flexibility, adaptability and individuality of design.
Understand the preferences and needs of the target user group, and design modules with personalized features to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of different users. Incorporate specific styles or themes into modular designs, such as natural, modern, artistic, etc., to enhance the attractiveness and recognizability of the landscape.

Consider the use of modules in specific situations, such as family gatherings, children's games, relaxation, etc., and design modules that can adapt to different scenarios. Design modules that are easy to move, reorganize, and expand to accommodate changes and future needs of the site. Design modules that can be used for multiple purposes, such as seats, tables, decorative objects, etc., to improve their practicality and flexibility.

Through the landscape platform, the theme of Lesserta has made high-quality thematic explorations on the development of the landscape industry for many times, hoping to inject thoughtful content sharing into the industry through a large number of case studies. Today's content discussion, I hope it is just a brick throw, and more different opinions are welcome. With the continuous development of the industry, the landscape industry is constantly changing, regardless of the professional fields and technical means that can be reached. Good design always travels through time, making people unforgettable, and even becoming a classic, and an excellent landscape practitioner should be able to constantly iterate out of their comfort zone, form their own working methods and work logic systems with the successful project experience accumulated in the past, adapt to the market, and constantly innovate their work skills, so that even under the new market demand, they can still continue to create value.
