King Gojong of Joseon (1852 – January 21, 1919) was the 26th monarch of the Joseon dynasty, who officially declared its independence from China in 1897 and was founded as the Korean Empire.

The founding monarch of the Korean Empire, Gojong Yi Hee of Korea, tried to reform and tried several times to break free from Japanese control, but failed. In 1907, Gojong was forced to abdicate by the Japanese due to the Hague Secret Envoy Incident, became Emperor Taishang, and was placed under house arrest in Gyeongungung Palace (renamed Deoksugung Palace).

In 1910, Japan annexed the Korean Empire, and Gojong of Korea was named "King Lee Tae-gung of Deaksugung Palace". In 1919, Gojong died suddenly at Deoksugung Palace, and his death was the trigger for the March 1st Movement in Korea.

Li Xishu's eldest son: Prince Wan Li Yuan

Prince Wan is the eldest son of Joseon Gaozong Li Xi, and his mother is Shuyuan Li (Li Shun'e, later named Yongbaotang noble). His mother, Lee, was only a lowly palace maid, but she was favored by the young Emperor Gojong, and gave birth to Gojong's first son, Lee Jong, on the 10th day of the fourth month of the leap month in the seventh year of Tongzhi (1868) in Seoul (present-day Seoul).

Li died of smallpox, but it is rumored that he was killed by Concubine Min.

Son of Yi Hee: Chunjong of Joseon (the last monarch of the Joseon dynasty of the Yi family)

Chunjong Yi Kun (February 8, 1874 – April 25, 1926), known as Junbang and Jeonghyun, was the son of Gojong Yi Hee of the Joseon Dynasty, the 2nd Emperor of the Korean Empire, and the 27th (last) monarch of the Joseon Dynasty, who reigned from July 20, 1907 to August 29, 1910. The year name is Longxi, so it is also known as Emperor Longxi, and he is known as Wenwen Wuning Dunren and Filial Piety Emperor.

Li Xi's seventh son: Li Yin

Yi Yin (October 20, 1897 – May 1, 1970), the last prince of the Joseon Dynasty and one of Japan's modern imperial families, was a Japanese soldier. The seventh son of Joseon Gojong (the third son). His title is Prince Ying, also known as Prince Li. The last heir to the throne of the Joseon Dynasty, after his death, he was appointed Crown Prince Yicho Moonin Muzhuang to Hyo Myeonghui, referred to as Prince Yicho or Prince Myeonghui.

In 1907, the parents chose Min Yongdun's daughter Min Jiawan as his future wife. The Japanese forcibly withdrew from the marriage, and Terauchi Masashi advocated that a princess be selected from the Japanese imperial family to marry him, and persuaded the emperor and Yamaprefecture Aritomo. In 1917, Duke Youpeng of Shan County chose Fang Zi, the daughter of King Shouzheng of Liben Palace, as Li Yin's wife. Rimoto Shrine was forced to agree due to the emperor's wishes. Joseon Gojong said that as long as Wang Shizi was satisfied, I had no opinion, and Chunjong said that things had developed to this point, which was natural. Japan rejected Gojong and Junjong's request to hold a wedding in Korea.

Lord Dehye Wong (May 25, 1912 - April 21, 1989), Lee, whose real name is unknown, was the third daughter of the reigning Korean Emperor Lee Hee, the third daughter of the founding emperor of the Korean Empire, and the mother of the noble Yang.
