After preliminary analysis, the fire was caused by a fire where electric bicycles were parked on the overhead floor of 6 buildings, and the specific cause is under further investigation.

On May 7, 2023, a fire broke out in Building 1 of the Huanhe Huayuan Community in Linquan Town, Linxian County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province, killing five people. The fire accident was caused by the poor contact between the indoor power supply cable and the insulation puncture clamp in the 8th floor cable well of Unit 1 of Building 1 in the community, and the arc discharge ignited flammable and combustible materials such as cable sheaths, resulting in the spread of the disaster.
