Recently, the School of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of Southwest University held the 40th anniversary of the professional achievement exhibition and orchid bonsai exhibition of landscape architecture discipline in the museum of Southwest University, and more than 100 people attended the opening ceremony of Chongqing Orchid Culture Research Association, Beibei District Bonsai Art Association member representatives and representatives of teachers and students of the college.
It is understood that more than 100 orchids and bonsai plants (pots) were exhibited in this orchid bonsai exhibition. Among them, among the more than 50 orchids, there are not only the traditional varieties of "Global Lotus Ding", "Cui Gai Lotus" and "Duanmei", but also the new varieties such as "Heart to Heart", "Jade Linglong", "Jianyang Butterfly", "Crystal Lotus Petal" and "Dwarf Crystal" that have been selected and bred on the market in recent years. Among the more than 50 bonsai, the genres of different regions and countries are richly presented. They have different styles, some appreciate the branches, some hang fruits, some condense the magnificent mountains and rivers, and some only present a corner of the scenery, showing different layouts.
According to reports, this year is the 40th anniversary of the landscape architecture discipline of the School of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of Southwest University. Over the years, the discipline has achieved leapfrog development from small gardens to large greenery and then to large garden residences, cultivated more than 10,000 professionals, and has become an important force in the construction of green habitats and landscape architecture industry in southwest China. At present, the landscape architecture discipline of the School of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of Southwest University is mainly oriented to urban and rural environmental construction and governance and ecological environmental protection and restoration, and cultivates compound application and industry leading talents.
On the same day, academic seminars were also held, such as the Roundtable Forum on the Development of Landscape Architecture Discipline in Southwest China, the Academic Forum on Landscape Architecture Planning and Design and Practice Innovation, the Academic Forum on Land Landscape Protection and Utilization of Garden Resources, and the Roundtable Forum on the Development of Landscape Architecture Discipline in Southwest China. More than 40 experts and scholars from Beijing Forestry University, Tsinghua University and other universities conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the development of disciplines and industries.
