Among them, Beijing Institute of Brain Science and Brain-like Sciences, together with Beijing Xinzhida Neurotechnology Co., Ltd., successfully built the "Beibrain No. 2" high-performance invasive intelligent brain-computer system. It is reported that the system is based on self-developed high-throughput flexible microwire electrodes and high-speed neural signal acquisition equipment with a large number of channels, which can effectively support the development of efficient motor imaging neural codec, and the electrode performance parameters are world-leading, and for the first time in the world, the smart brain control of the two-dimensional motion cursor by macaques has been realized. The breakthrough of this technical problem has laid the foundation for clinical applications such as the development of a new generation of neuroprostheses that are more natural and flexible. It is understood that Beijing Xinzhida Neurotechnology Co., Ltd. was established by Beijing Municipal Finance and Zhongguancun Development Group. The previously developed "Bei Brain No. 1", which focuses on semi-invasive collection of cerebral cortical electrical signals, has completed the research and development of core components and animal experiment verification, and is carrying out clinical research. According to reports, "Beibrain No. 1" will bring more effective treatment and rehabilitation programs to patients in terms of functional replacement and rehabilitation of motor and language disorders. Different from "Beinao-1", "Beinao-2" has developed invasive electrodes into the brain. An electrode is equivalent to a "sensor". Implanted in the brain, the performance of "reading" EEG signals determines the quantity and quality of brain signals captured. Li Yuan, business development director of Beijing Xinzhida Neurotechnology Co., Ltd., told the media that the flexible materials used in "Beinao No. 2" are highly biocompatible, non-cytotoxic, can make a large number of contacts on the electrode wire, have a high number of channels, and have strong signal capture capabilities. Up close, the electrode is small and thin, with a diameter of one-tenth to one-hundredth of a human hair, and a large number of contacts that can only be seen under a microscope. This design can greatly reduce the damage to brain tissue and prolong the time it takes to capture EEG signals. "Its effective channel number and long-term stability have reached the international leading level. Unlike rigid electrodes, flexible microwire electrodes can still accurately collect EEG signals after one year of implantation in the macaque brain. Li Yuan said. The algorithm is equivalent to a "translator", which accurately analyzes the brain's intentions. The algorithm applied by "Bei Brain No. 2" is self-developed in China, which can establish an accurate mapping between neural activity and motor parameters in the cerebral cortex. Li Yuan said that at present, there are not many systems that have opened up the whole link of the national high-performance invasive brain-computer interface, and the "North Brain No. 2" has realized the self-development of the core technology and components of the whole link. "The brain-computer interface competition is safe, stable and effective, which is a systematic project. Luo Minmin, director of the Beijing Institute of Brain Science and Brain-like, said that the brain-computer interface link is long, involving electrodes, chips, algorithms, software, materials and other links, and the key technologies need to be further breakthroughs.
