DPRK representative Kim Jong Nam said that the friendship between China and the DPRK is the common strategic wealth of the two countries, and the DPRK side thanked the Chinese side for its support for the cause of socialism in the DPRK. It is worth noting that he particularly stressed that the DPRK will support China's measures on Taiwan, Xinjiang, Hong Kong, and other issues, and is willing to work closely with China to jointly address challenges in all aspects. The DPRK's remarks on China are like a stone stirring up a thousand waves, which immediately aroused the attention of the outside world. Although China and the DPRK, as close cooperative partners, have always supported each other in safeguarding their core interests, the DPRK side has directly emphasized that it will support China on three issues, which still sends a rather special signal. Before discussing this, it is useful to recall what North Korea's neighbor, South Korea, did some time ago.
In the middle of this month, the so-called "Summit for Democracy" was held in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, for the first time in South Korea, and the Yoon Suk-yeol administration may have tried to curry favor with the US government. Against this background, the DPRK has taken the initiative to support China on issues related to Taiwan, Xinjiang and Hong Kong, which can be regarded as directly helping China on the Taiwan issue. Although it is true that North Korea's international influence is not so strong, and it does not have enough voice to help China push back against the unreasonable accusations of the Western bloc on issues related to Xinjiang and Hong Kong, North Korea's deterrent capability against South Korea is self-evident in the peninsula. At a time when the Seoul authorities are eager to try the Taiwan issue, which involves China's core interests, the North Korean side has made a statement that it will support China on the Taiwan issue, which can be regarded as a side warning to the South Korean side, which helps remind the Seoul authorities to remain calm when dealing with the Taiwan issue. In this sense, the DPRK's statement is timely and helps to knock South Korea on, and not only that, but it also worries the US side.
For the United States, the last thing they want to see in the Indo-Pacific direction is for China, Russia and North Korea to unite and jointly resist US hegemony. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had publicly expressed his stance on the Taiwan issue, pointing out that he believed that China would definitely complete national reunification, and said that Russia would support China on the Taiwan issue. Washington will painfully find that if China wants to completely resolve the Taiwan issue, Russia and the DPRK will stick a knife in both sides, and the United States has no confidence in stopping the mainland in the Taiwan Strait.
