A few days ago, we learned from relevant channels that the BYD Seal Glory Edition will be launched on March 25. The new car is likely to continue BYD's previous idea of "increasing configuration and reducing prices", and it is expected that the configuration of the entry-level model will be adjusted, and the starting price may be reduced to less than 180,000 yuan. For reference, there are currently 5 models of the BYD Seal Champion Edition on sale, with an official guide price of 189,800-279,800 yuan.
Review of the features of the BYD Seal Champion Edition model:
In terms of appearance, the Seal Champion Edition continues the design concept of "marine aesthetics", and the vehicle shape has a strong sense of sportiness. The front of the car adopts a closed design, and in the center is BYD's new LOGO. The headlights are elongated, the daytime running lights are independent of the headlights, and the front bumper is flanked by water ripple lighting effects. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the seal are 4800/1875/1460 mm, and the wheelbase has reached 2920 mm.
The rear design is in line with the style of the vehicle, with the through-type taillight shape echoing the headlights, and the inside of the lamp cavity is similar to the effect of water droplets, which will be very recognizable at night. There is a large diffuser underneath. At the same time, the car also added decorative parts related to marine elements in the fenders, side skirts, and rear triangular windows.
The interior of the Seal Champion Edition is very stretched, and some marine elements are also incorporated, such as the undulating shape of the upper part of the dashboard, which is inspired by the waves. All models come standard with a 10.25-inch full-LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating center display, equipped with DiLink intelligent network system, and support for 5G in-vehicle network.
In terms of configuration, the 550km premium model has new configurations such as leather seats, leather steering wheel, rear privacy glass, and armrest box lifting cup holders. The 650 km all-wheel drive performance variant gets the Sport Package interior and comes standard with a light-sensitive canopy (optional on the 700 km range), Super iTAC Intelligent Torque Control, simulated sound, Continental silent tyres and 19-inch five-spoke rims.
In terms of power, the Seal Champion Edition adopts a rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive layout, of which the rear-wheel drive version provides three specifications of permanent magnet synchronous motors with a maximum power of 150 kW, 170 kW and 230 kW, with peak torque of 310 Nm, 330 Nm and 360 Nm respectively. The all-wheel drive version is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 230 kW and a maximum torque of 360 Nm on the rear axle, and an AC asynchronous motor with a maximum power of 160 kW and a maximum torque of 310 Nm on the front axle.
In terms of range, the Seal Champion Edition is available with two lithium iron phosphate blade batteries with a capacity of 61.4 kWh and 82.5 kWh, with a range of 550 km and 700 km in the rear-wheel drive version and 650 km in the all-wheel drive version respectively.
