The quarterfinals of the Welsh Open are out! The Chinese army was wiped out, and there were only four people left in the top 16!

On February 16, 2024, Beijing time, the 1/8 finals of the World Snooker Welsh Open came to an end. Chinese players Fan Zhengyi and Fu Jiajun were both out, and the Chinese snooker army was wiped out.

World No. 3 Mark Allen, four-time World Champion John Higgins and new World Champion Brecel and Scottish Open Gary Wilson have advanced to the quarterfinals, while Martin O'Donnell, Slessor, McGill, Dale and McGill have also advanced to the quarterfinals.

Subsequently, Fu Jiajun recovered a game with a single stroke of 82 points, and fell behind O'Donnell 1-2. Immediately afterwards, O'Donnell won another game with a single stroke of 54 points and 77:17, leading Fu Jiajun 3-1 to get the match point.

Fu Jiajun then recovered a game with a single stroke of 55 points and 79:38, thus falling behind O'Donnell 2-3. Although Fu Jiajun had a chance to complete the counterattack in the next game, O'Donnell still won the game 68-39 and finally defeated Fu Jiajun 4-2.

Four of the top 16 players qualified for the quarter-finals

In the fourth round of the Welsh Open, world No. 3 Mark Allen scored 110 and 50 points in a single stroke to win four games in a row and swept Robbie Williams 4-0 to complete the promotion.

Gary Wilson, ranked 16th in the world, only scored 53 points in a single stroke, but he still won four games in a row to sweep the veteran Milkins 4-0 and successfully advance to the quarterfinals.

McGill scored 78 points, 59 points and won two games in a row with a single shot to defeat Wharton, a four-time champion in the ranking tournament, 4-3.

The new world champion reversed Tom Ford 4-1 with a 4-1 reversal of Tom Ford with a single stroke of 62, 63 and 65 points in a single stroke with a disadvantageous start of 0-1.

Higgins fell behind 1-3 with a single stroke of 65 and 62 points to win three games in a row and beat Selt 4-3. Dale scored 89 points in a single shot and won four consecutive games to sweep Jack Jones 4-0.

Welsh Open quarter-final matchups

At 20:00 Beijing time on February 16, 2024, the first 1/4 finals of the World Snooker Welsh Open will officially open, with Mark Allen and Higgins respectively, and this game is also known as the early stage of the final.

Allen is the highest-ranked player in the quarter-finals, while Higgins is the biggest winner in the history of the Welsh Open, winning five and two runners-up in the tournament.

And in the game no earlier than 22:00 on February 16, the veteran Dale will meet Slessor in a narrow way.

Gary Wilson will face McGill in the 3 a.m. session on Feb. 17, while O'Donnell will battle new world champion Brecel for the right to qualify.
