Li Cheng 《Qingfeng 萧寺图》Local Department
Li Cheng (919-967) was a painter of the early Song Dynasty. The word Xianxi. Originally from Chang'an, the ancestor of the Tang clan, his grandfather moved to Yingqiu (now Qingzhou, Shandong) in the fifth generation, so it is also called Li Yingqiu. He is good at painting landscapes, and he is taught by Jing Hao and Guan Tong, and then he is a family of his own.

This "Picture of Riding a Donkey in the Cold Forest" is the old collection of Zhang Daqian's Dafeng Hall, and the literati riding a donkey in the suburbs are painted on a large vertical scroll, accompanied by child servants before and after. The ancient pine has the potential of Lingyun, and there are dead trees and cold streams between them, which is quite interesting. Zhang Daqian in the poetry hall inscribed "Dafeng Hall supports the world's first Li Cheng painting". The lower end of the painting is decorated with a long title, among which the cloud: "Mi Yuanzhang "Painting History" Yun Baoyue Master Li Cheng four, a talented man riding a horse on the road, a child with him, as beautiful as the Maha painting "Meng Haoran Riding a Donkey", this cloud riding a horse, a moment of mistaken book. "And clouds" pine branches are strong, the pine leaves are gloomy and shaded, the thorns and small trees have no redundant brushes, and they do not make the shape of the dragon and snake gods, that is, this picture also. ”

This painting of two long pines, mixed with withered branches and cold trees, pine branches as crab-shaped, in the upper right corner there are Song Huizong inscription "Li Chenghan Forest Plain" six characters, there is a "imperial book" half seal in front, the upper end of the painting has Qianlong inscription poem and collection seal.

The mountains and rocks are majestic and beautiful, and there are many changes in the dyeing brush, which has both the majesty of Guan Tong and the clarity of Li Cheng. The painter paints the dead trees of the cold forest with a sharp brush, and the scenery is quiet and quiet, although it is not a distant scene, but it still has the characteristics of Li Cheng's painting style. It is estimated that this picture should have been completed in the early Northern Song Dynasty, at least the work of Li Cheng's school. In the Song Dynasty's "Xuanhe Painting", there is a record of "Xueji River Travel Map", I don't know if it is this picture.
