"嗷嗷嗷......"

In the middle of the night, as I had just gotten into my tent to rest, I heard a few wolf howls, and they were getting closer.

Through the tent, I looked closer, and there were four dark shadows walking in my direction.

As they walked, they raised their heads, raised their heads to the sky, and howled. I've never heard such a layered moan in my life, and I'm terrified.

Soon, the four wolves came to the edge of my tent and began to probe, either zipping the tent with their claws, or tearing the trunk of the tree outside the tent with their claws, but they did not dare to act rashly.

I was on full alert, picked up the pot next to me, and thought to myself that if they rushed in, I would fight with them.

Luckily, the four wolves didn't know about me, and they didn't dare to break in, and they stayed up until dawn, and then they left.

I'm Lu Zhanbin, a post-90s generation who loves to travel, and this is the first time I've brushed shoulders with death.

I thought that there would be a blessing after the great calamity, but who knew that the second time, death was closer to me.

(On the way to Kashgar)

I was born in 1997 in a small village in Shenqiu County, Zhoukou, Henan Province, to parents who were honest farmers. My father was more straightforward and wanted us to grow up with good rules, so he was more strict in discipline.

But I have been a disobedient person since I was a child, and the more strict my father was, the more I wanted to run out, looking at the wide road outside, the crowd of people, and the idea of going out took root in my heart.

When I was in elementary school, I didn't have the courage to run far, so I hid from my parents and ran to a nearby village with my classmates, which I regarded as my first trip in life.

Even though I just went to the neighboring village, I was still excited to see things I had never seen before.

When I got to high school, I went to school in town, and I couldn't hold back my desire for the outside world. Once, when I was preparing for the marathon team, I signed up enthusiastically, so I could take the opportunity to get out of school and go to a farther place.

Looking at the high-rise buildings and the dim lights, the flame of longing for freedom in my heart was ignited. I told myself that one day, I would leave my footprints everywhere in this world.

When I was a sophomore in high school, I left school, thinking that my grades would not slip away, and even if I continued to study, it would be difficult to get ahead, so it was better to go out early and find my own world in this vast world.

(Work out of the home)

With the introduction of a relative, I found my first job and began my "rafting" career.

At that time, I was working as a worker in a mattress factory in Ningbo, Zhejiang, and although the work on the assembly line was boring, it also allowed me to save a sum of money. When my pockets bulged, I began to think about the first trip in my life.

If I travel by public transport, it is more like sightseeing, and I can't experience the local customs, so after some thought, I decided to ride a bike.

I've always felt that there are many kinds of fun in traveling: some people like to choose public transportation directly, which is the way many people travel in the fast-paced era, but I prefer to experience the whole process from entering a city to leaving a city, so that watching the whole thing can bring me more extreme travel fun.

In 2019, I started my first ride and chose the Qinghai-Tibet line. It is said that newborn calves are not afraid of tigers, and I, who have never been to the plateau, do not know what "high anti" is, and only think about climbing the peak and challenging myself.

I first checked my bike to Xining, Qinghai, and then rode all the way from Xining, Qinghai to Lhasa.

After getting off the bike, I rode my beloved bicycle, thinking that I would go all the way, but I didn't ride for long, and I felt that the whole person was fluttering, my mind was chaotic, and the most annoying thing was that I didn't know exactly what it hurt.

This physical state obviously did not support me to continue on the road, so I had to put aside my arrogance first, honestly find a hotel to rest for a few days, and only officially hit the road when I got used to the altitude of Qinghai.

(On the way to Qinghai-Tibet line)

On the road again, I had another closed door. As I was walking towards Baotou, two motorcycles suddenly circled in front of me and blocked my way. A couple of scruffy bearded uncles, not very athletic, speaking in a language I don't understand, gesturing with their hands on my body.

I knew that they were asking for money, and if they didn't give it, they would inevitably be beaten, but that's all I had, and if I did, I wouldn't even be able to get out of the Qinghai-Tibet line, and after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to resist.

Because I have studied martial arts for a period of time before, I still have a certain foundation, and I faced these four big men alone, and ended up with a lose-lose result.

Eventually, I found their time to catch their breath and rode away.

Afterwards, I found that my body was covered in bruises, and I don't know where I got the courage to fight against four adult men on my own. This made me understand that in desperate situations, human potential is limitless.

With this experience, I have a good eye for traveling, try to find a place with a lot of people, and no longer go into a no-man's land alone.

But people are not as good as heaven, I am on guard everywhere, but I never thought that I escaped the extortion of people, but I encountered the death announcement of a carnivore.

It was getting dark that day, and after a long day of cycling, I felt a little tired, so I set up a tent nearby to get ready to rest. Because I was worried that the traffic on the road at night would disturb my rest, I chose a place a little further away from the road and near the mountains when I set up camp.

(Inner Mongolia - Baotou on the way)

Towards midnight, as I was about to rest, I saw through the tent a few black shadows moving, and as they got closer, several of them raised their heads and howled loudly.

I have never heard such a layered moan in my life, as if it reached the sky and illuminated the moon, and then resonated with it back to the ground, and stirred people's hearts.

I was so scared that I had asked the local villagers if there were any wolves in the vicinity at night.

The villagers said that there would be one or two occasionally, so I didn't take it seriously, but I didn't think that this time I came across four, all of whom looked like adults.

The four wolves paced close to my tent, raising their sharp claws to fumble outside my tent, and I took the pot beside me, thinking that if these wolves rushed in, I would fight them to the death.

Thankfully, the wolves were alert, for I had been silent in the tent, and they had been out interviewing, zipping the tent with their claws, or biting the trunk of the tree outside the tent with their claws, but they did not dare to act rashly.

I gradually have a bottom in my heart, I will not move if the enemy does not move, as long as I do not move, they will not be able to detect, and they will know the difficulty and retreat.

I stayed motionless in the tent for several hours, and when the sun crept up the treetops, and the sky gradually brightened, the wolves who had been crawling outside for the night seemed to have exhausted their strength, and finally dragged their tired bodies away.

I was relieved and slowly poked my head out of the tent, the sun shining on my cheeks, the feeling of the rest of my life was really amazing, but I didn't want to experience it again.

This trip, twice in distress, twice rescued, I think this is a catastrophe that will not die, and there will be a blessing in the future. This also reminded me again that if you spend the night alone, you must choose a densely populated place close to the highway, which will be safer.

(Travel-a-side)

With these two death-to-death experiences, I was as prepared as possible for each subsequent trip, and I also began to systematically learn the knowledge of camping.

Time passes, and in the blink of an eye, my cycling career has come over four or five years, and I have come and gone along the way, and I have come and become more and more aware of the meaning of reading thousands of books as well as traveling thousands of miles.

So, I really hope that if those who have travel ideas, don't think too much about it, they can act quickly.

The trip to the Qinghai-Tibet line left me with unforgettable memories, and some time ago on the way from Dunhuang to Golmud, Qinghai, I experienced the warmth of human feelings.

The road to Dunhuang is a long and uninhabited area. I prepared in advance according to the distance and the difficulty of the journey, but when I actually got to the field, I felt that I was still less prepared.

The weather was very bad, and the wind and sand were blowing so hard that people couldn't open their eyes.

The extreme weather caused a lot of water loss in my body, and the demand for water also increased rapidly, resulting in no man's land being half gone, and I didn't have enough water supply.

Looking at the endless desert and endless roads, I fell into confusion and helplessness.

This time, compared to before, at least I still have the foundation to break the boat and resist hard, but this time it is called every day, and the earth is not working.

Due to the lack of hydration, I clearly felt that my vital signs were slowly weakening, and it was especially hopeless.

(Camping in the wilderness)

I began to hallucinate, feeling that I would soon be sleeping with this desert, thinking about the thousands of miles of my homeland, and how many places I had not traveled, and I couldn't help but wet my clothes with tears.

The deathly silence seemed to herald my end, and after a brief silence, the wind mixed with the mud and sand drifted again. Suddenly, a whistle of "dropping" came to my ears, and the sound seemed out of place in this barren area, but to me, it was as precious as a rare treasure.

At first, I thought I was hallucinating, but it wasn't until the sound got closer to me that I came back to the driver of the car.

Looking at each other and relatively speechless, the driver quickly took four bottles of mineral water and two bottles of milk and handed them to me, showing a bright smile and nodding at me.

With this life-saving water resource, I was miraculously pulled out of the abyss again. Strangers I have never met have reached out to me when I need them most, and I sincerely wish them their blessings.

It is precisely because of my travels and meeting so many kind people along the way that the seeds of kindness have been planted in my heart, and I have been watered in being helped again and again, and then take root and sprout.

(Recorded Moments of Happiness)

I think this kindness should be passed on, when one kindness after another is transmitted, when such a seed of goodwill is sown in everyone's heart, then what is a "Datong" society is not far away.

In the following trips, I habitually went to the local primary school, donated a little material to the school, did what I could, and mingled with the children.

When the children said "thank you" to me in non-standard Mandarin, I knew at that moment I had found the meaning of my trip.

The story has an ending, but my journey never ends.

I will continue to ride with the kindness that others have given me, to help those I can, and I hope that each and every one of us, if you have been helped by others, then please pass it on, no matter where you are or what you are doing.
