The reporter learned from the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology on February 2 that the latest archaeological confirmation is that it is rumored that the Yangjiacheng once garrisoned by the famous patriotic group "Yang Jiajiang" in the Northern Song Dynasty should be the Linzhou City in the Tang and Song dynasties, which was an important barrier for the Northern Song Dynasty to control the northwest and resist Liaoxia.
The site of Yangjiacheng is located in the loess Liangyuan area on the northwest side of Yangcheng Village, Dianta Town, Shenmu City, and it is rumored that the famous patriotic group "Yang Jiajiang" in the Northern Song Dynasty was stationed here, so it is commonly known as "Yangjiacheng". According to the research of the predecessors and the chronology, the city should be the Linzhou city in the Tang and Song dynasties, so it was named "Linzhou Ancient City" when the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units were announced.
This archaeological work has newly discovered a "North City", the city wall is clear, and most of the relics seen in the city are from the Song and Jin dynasties, which should be roughly the same as the East City, the Inner City and the West City that have been discovered. Therefore, it is known that Yangjiacheng is composed of four relatively independent and interconnected small cities, namely the east city, the inner city, the west city and the north city, with an area of about 700,000 square meters. The four city walls are not one, and the relationship between the east city wall and the inner city wall to the east has been confirmed by archaeology.
In addition to the well-preserved relics, the excavation also unearthed a large number of relics, including porcelain, pottery, stone tools, building components and coins. The characteristics of the Tang and Song dynasties shown in the ceramics are more typical, especially the numismatic date and the epitaph of the Leaky Zeyuan are not later than those of the Northern Song Dynasty. In addition, the city wall is tall and thick, the multiple city walls are fortified, the number of weapons is large, and the unearthed bricks and tiles with the word "official", and the epitaph of the leaky Zeyuan show that Yangjiacheng is an important official city site in the Tang and Song dynasties, and the military nature is particularly prominent. Combined with the research of geographical lookouts, documents and related textual relics, Yangjiacheng should be the Linzhou city in the Tang and Song dynasties, which was an important barrier for the Northern Song Dynasty to control the northwest and resist Liaoxia.
According to the current discovery, the south gate of the inner city should be destroyed by the fire of the Northern Song Dynasty at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, which may also be an important reason for the abandonment of the entire Yangjia City. The buildings in the south gate of the inner city may be a place for the collective catering of the defenders and a place for the processing and production of military rations.
