Recently, the Education Department of the Autonomous Region issued a public announcement on the addition of non-state-controlled majors in higher vocational education (junior college) in the Autonomous Region in 2024, and Karamay Vocational and Technical College added two three-year higher vocational majors of "photovoltaic engineering technology" and "hydrogen energy technology application".
On January 23, the reporter learned from the college that the two majors will be officially enrolled in September this year.

In terms of professional training direction, the photovoltaic engineering technology major is based on cultivating photovoltaic power generation professional groups for power construction, hydrogen energy production, storage, transportation and utilization, etc., mastering the knowledge and technical skills of engineering drawing, electrical and electronic technology, electrical equipment installation, electrical equipment commissioning, component construction and other knowledge required by photovoltaic engineering technology, and can be engaged in photovoltaic power station design, photovoltaic power station operation and maintenance, photovoltaic power station construction and management.
The hydrogen energy technology application major is based on cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents who are oriented to the technical fields of hydrogen preparation, storage, transportation, refueling, hydrogen fuel cell production and application, master the professional knowledge and technical skills of hydrogen energy technology, and can be engaged in the operation and maintenance of hydrogen production equipment, hydrogen production process management, hydrogen storage, transportation and filling, hydrogen fuel cell assembly and maintenance, hydrogen energy application, etc.
