The Japanese invaders are in the pines

Yang Guoqing Zhu Songqing

Located in the north of Changning, Songbai was originally a small market town with about 100 shops in commerce and handicrafts. It is adjacent to the Xiangjiang River in the north, 10 miles away from the Shuikoushan lead-zinc mine in the south, and a narrow-gauge railway connects Songbai and Shuikoushan. It is also a distribution market for agricultural and sideline products in the villages near Chang, Heng and Lei.

Before the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Kuomintang government and private businessmen successively set up sand washing tables, lead smelters, a Jiuda weaving factory, and a sulfur smelting factory in this area, and had more than 3,000 industrial workers. At that time, the pine and cypress could be described as convenient transportation, the rise of industry, agricultural harvest, and active commerce. Although the masses of workers and peasants were exploited by the arrest and distribution of money, they could still get a porridge and a half a meal. However, these peaceful residents never dreamed that they would become slaves under the iron hooves of the Japanese invaders overnight, and that they had enough of the suffering of losing their country for more than a year!

A damned day

On May 15, 1944, a day of great calamity to the people, the sun had just come out of the mountain, and a small group of devil soldiers, about 100 or so people, were loaded with guns and ammunition, and suddenly dark clouds covered the top, and a catastrophe was coming, people scattered and fled for their lives, men and women howled, factories were suspended, farmers abandoned farming, merchants were closed, and schools were closed. All day long, people hid in remote mountain villages in the southeastern region, miserable and panicked, with sad faces, not knowing what fate the future would be. At first, people thought that the devils would leave that day, but unexpectedly, the devil soldiers were stationed in two places, one part was stationed in Yangjia, the homeland of Songbai Wang (now Songbai Middle School), and the other part was stationed in Laoyazao, Shuikoushan (now the cement factory of the Mining Bureau). They go out to plunder during the day, and retreat into strongholds by night. The men, women, and children who had been evacuated were filled with righteous indignation when they saw that the Japanese invaders were vicious and vicious, burning, killing, and plundering. In the midst of suffering, everyone helped each other, and whoever brought the grain, pork, etc., kept an account on paper, and everyone ate it separately, which was called "eating on credit when they were alive, and earning to eat when they died." "In remote mountain villages, there are many people who have fled for a while, and they have no room to live in, and most of them eat in the wilderness and live in the mountains. In order to avoid exposing the target, they did not dare to light a fire to cook during the day, children were not allowed to cry, and people even had to abandon their cars for safety. There was a peasant named Yang Shihu, a husband and wife, gave birth to a child named Chang Geng, because of his weak life, could not withstand the wind and rain, disease infected his body, often cried, seeing that the child could not live, one day, the couple endured to cover the child to death in the ravine, Xiao Chang Geng became a short-lived ghost. These refugees who fled for their lives were tossed around for four months, dying, sick, and suffering from the dead. The Japanese Invaders Committed All Kinds of Atrocities in Songbai The Japanese invaders have been stationed in Songbai for more than a year, and they have ravaged the mainland and brutally killed our people.

(1) Looting and burning

The Japanese invaders practiced the "three lights" policy and committed all kinds of evil. Everywhere they went, they looted and plundered their valuables, coarse cloth and mosquito nets were burned, wooden utensils were smashed into piles or sprinkled with kerosene and set on fire, in water tanks, urine in sorrel jars, horses in rice paddies, livestock were slaughtered, meat on four legs was cut off and the rest was abandoned in the wilderness, and leftover food and rice wine were poured into silt ditches.

(2) Brutal killing of innocents

The Japanese invaders killed people in Songbai like grass mustard, and the common methods were beheading, stabbing, and disembowelment. In August 1944, several devils were taken captive to Zhu's house in Songbai Xintangchong, where a 72-year-old peasant named Zhu Henan was unable to escape and was caught by the devils as a porter. Because of his old age and infirmity, he could not walk, and was stabbed into the temple with a bayonet by the devil, and he screamed and fell into the pond at the door, and the water was stained red with blood. At the end of October of that year, two peddlers selling clogs in Yongxing County, one carrying a load of clogs to Songbai, unfortunately broke into the tiger's mouth and was caught by the Japanese invaders. What was even worse was that a small boat that came down from Qiyang, loaded with some vegetables and the like, anchored at the Songbai Wharf, and as soon as the boat docked, the Japanese invaders caught the boatman, tied up the flowers, cut off the skull, dried it with firewood, pounded it into powder, and treated a "Taijun" with swelling and poison. The list goes on and on.

(3) Adultery with women

The Japanese invaders are a group of beasts that have exterminated humanity, and when they see women, whether they are young girls, young girls, sick women, pregnant women, or old women, once they are caught, no one is spared. Their methods of abusing women are despicable and cruel, ranging from single rape to gang rape by multiple people. What is even more despicable is that the husbands, brothers, fathers, and fathers-in-law of women who threaten women with knives and guns watch them commit adultery, and some women are gang-raped to death, and some are stabbed to death by devils with knives in the pussy after being raped. One day in August of that year, several devils went to the Chen family's mansion to catch a girl, and the devils forced her grandfather to commit rape. The woman resisted to the death and was stabbed to death with a bayonet on the spot. On another day, two devils came to Luo's house on Zhoushang, grabbed the young woman Luo Cuicui, gang-raped her, and coerced a young man from the same village to sit by and watch them commit adultery.

(4) Destruction of factories

The Japanese invaders stationed in Songbai tried their best to destroy the factory in order to implement the "three-light policy". They seized the boats everywhere, dismantled the machinery and equipment of the lead smelter, transported them by boat to the mouth of the Tsu River, and sank them to the bottom of the river. In the first half of 1945, dozens of men were sent every day to climb onto the factory building of the Jiuda Weaving Factory (the area where the factory site is now the office of the Mining Bureau), demolish the house, throw the tiles from the roof to the ground, and smash them. During the demolition of the house, nearby women and children went to collect firewood, but it caused a terrible disaster. A group of women and children who were collecting firewood were chased by the devils and scattered in all directions, and the devils chased them to nearby villages, and indiscriminately tied up five people, Zhu Chengsong, Zhu Chengtao, Zhu Xianqing, Yang Zhengyi, and Liu Changcheng, who had just returned from working in the fields, to the Xianghe stronghold (the Zhiqing Farm at the ferry port of the Mining Bureau) and tortured them severely. It was dog days, and the sun was like fire. The devil forced the five men to stand barefoot on the hot waste residue and get burned, their feet were so hot that they were red and swollen, and they were unsteady on their feet. At this time, Liu Changcheng lay down on the ground, and the devil also put a large wooden plank on his chest, and a ghost soldier stood at each end of the plank. After the devil had used up the torture, he tied his hands behind his back with ropes and hung them on the pillows of the building, and hung them in the air all night. The victim's family was so anxious that they begged for mercy and asked someone to intercede, and finally sent dozens of stones of rice before they ransomed the victim.

The disaster left by the Japanese invaders to the people of Songbai

In addition to the direct brutality and ravages committed by the Koukou in Songbai, the various atrocities committed by the Koukou in Songbai also left a profound disaster to the people of Songbai, highlighting the lack of livelihood of the people, the epidemic of plague, and the mass death of the population. "Where the Japanese army is stationed, the death of the population, like the remnants of the autumn wind, has fallen, and the number is recorded, and in a village, there are often hundreds" (see "The Chronicle of the Peaceful Chaos in Changning").

The common symptom of the disease in the Songbai area is the stomach, which ranges from diarrhea to blood, and the smell is unpleasant. The onset of the disease was fast, the death was fast, the slow was three to five days, the fast was one or two days, and the miserable situation at that time was unbearable: Today the wife cries for her husband, tomorrow the son cries for the mother, and then no one cries when people die, and no one buries the dead. 147 people died in the village of Houbeiyangjia in Songyan Township, and 7 households were wiped out. Xintangchong: 16 people from four Zhu families died, and 8 died. 38 people from 7 households in Europe died and 17 died. There is a family of 6 named Luo Xingfa, and there is only one daughter-in-law. A family named Zhu Chengsong died even more tragically, at the beginning of the two young sons died overnight, the husband and wife wept bitterly, and then used two earthen baskets to carry the dead children into the river, not long after, his wife died, Zhu Chengsong with tears in his eyes, buried her with four boards, and soon died again, his younger brother dragged his sick body to bury him. There was a worker's wife surnamed Xiong, the man died, and she fled to Zhujia Village with her 14-year-old daughter, who was not cured of her illness and was still breathing, and in order to avoid spreading the word to others, she dragged her daughter to the wilderness with her heart and mind, and her daughter continued to moan along the way, and did not swallow her last breath until the next day.

On the slopes of Gantangchong, Oujia Mountain, and Tongluo Temple, which have always been cemeteries, you can only see dead bodies all over the field, white bones everywhere, some in coffins or wooden boxes, some wrapped in straw mats, and some thrown corpses exposed, all gloomy and desolate! This plague was caused by the Japanese invaders, and some people suspected that the Japanese invaders had released bacteria. In short, the Japanese invaders occupied the Songbai area for more than a year, and the people were subjected to "five deaths": forced to death, killed, tortured to death, raped to death, and died of disease. The crimes committed by the Japanese invaders are too many to write! (Zhu Ziming and Zhan Jianming compiled excerpts from the first volume of "Changning Literary and Historical Materials")

The Japanese invaders are in the pines

The child was burned by the Japanese army in many places, and a neighbor rescued the 3-year-old child, who had been severely burned, from the fire and sent him to the Drum Tower Hospital for treatment. [Rabe's Diary]
