On December 29, on the stage of "Eason Chan Fear and Dreams Tour" in Guangzhou, Eason Chan sang the new song "Tale of the Empty City" for the first time, and the MV premiered at the same time.
Eason Chan's new music album "CHIN UP!" contains a total of 8 songs. It is understood that the concept of the album comes from the phrase he often heard when he was studying in the UK: "Keep Your Chin Up" (Don't be discouraged). He believes that such a simple encouraging sentence is suitable for any era.
The Chinese song "Empty City Story" in the album expresses the taste of people's loss and concern - first have to lose, and lose to be able to worry. It is reported that the MV for "Tale of the Empty City" is directed by Yu Jingping, who has just won the Golden Horse Award for Best Cinematography, and she is the first female winner in the history of the Golden Horse Awards.
In the MV, Eason Chan played a mirror man, wearing a black suit and a gentleman's hat throughout the whole process, visiting Yangmingshan, the North Coast and other places for filming, and shooting in the sun for 12 hours in the heat of more than 30 degrees. The MV is presented in black and white, expressing that something in life has been forgotten or missing, whether it is the appearance (Eason Chan obscured the appearance with a mirror), the inner world, the hat or the color, etc. And everyone has experienced loss, whether it is an object or an emotional loss, and we always have to try to face it.
The MV spent a lot of effort and time in post-production, and the most special thing is that it uses hand-cut paper-cutting technology to present the picture effect, which has a new impact on the visual sense.
