The U.S. and Venezuela completed a detaineee swap on December 20. The U.S. released Alex Saab, a businessman with close ties to the Venezuelan government, and Venezuela released 10 U.S. citizens and extradited a Malaysian businessman suspected of involvement in the U.S. Navy bribery case back to the United States.
