It is understood that the Wuhan Polar Ocean Park Coral Breeding Hall opened for the first time today, the Coral Breeding Hall covers an area of more than 300 square meters, the museum displays more than 40 kinds, 3,000 varieties of various types of corals, can accommodate more than 200 people to visit at the same time.
The Jimu News reporter saw at the scene that Mr. Chen Hong, the head of the South China Sea Institute of Tropical Oceanography, guided the children to participate in the planting of corals in the coral breeding hall to understand the importance of corals to marine ecology.
"Mom, I'm so happy! This is my first time planting corals, and I will definitely come to the Polar Ocean Park again in the future to see what the corals I grow look like!" said Li Xiyue, a 6-year-old child from Wuchang District, Wuhan City, excitedly.
"The Coral Breeding Hall of Wuhan Polar Ocean Park is the first science popularization base with the theme of coral reefs in Central China. We hope that through this pavilion, the public will pay more attention to the ocean, pay attention to corals, and participate in the action of protecting the ocean. Tan Wencheng, general manager of Wuhan Polar Ocean Park, said that in the later stage, science education will continue to be strengthened, and more people will understand the importance of corals and marine ecology through display and science popularization.
