She was born to be a different person because she lived in a world without sound.
However, it was this crippled world that gave her a firm belief in pursuing her dreams.
Let her become a dazzling dancer and touch the hearts of thousands of people with her dancing posture.
She is Tai Lihua, the performer of the Thousand-Armed Guanyin.
In fact, Tai Lihua was not born with a disability, because when she was 2 years old, Tai Lihua had a high fever, and her parents sent her to the hospital.
One needle went down, and the fever quickly subsided. Who knew that this seemingly simple treatment made Tai Lihua lose her sense of hearing.
Later, the doctor learned that it was streptomycin that caused Tai Lihua's deafness.
Tai Lihua's parents were full of self-blame and sadness.
They took Tai Lihua all over the world to seek medical advice, but the doctors said that hearing could not be restored.
Tai Lihua is still young, she doesn't understand why she is different from other children, she still lives happily as before.
However, the good times did not last long, and at the age of 5, Tai Lihua was persuaded to quit kindergarten.
The teacher said that a deaf child could not be taught.
Tai Lihua could only watch the other children rushing to the kindergarten with their schoolbags on their backs, and she was locked out forever.
Tai Lihua was turned away from a public school, and her parents had to send her to a school for the deaf and dumb.
Unexpectedly, it was this school for the deaf and dumb that allowed Tai Lihua to find something that could resonate with her - dance.
In one vocal lesson, the teacher struck the drum vigorously and vibrated the rhythm of the music.
Tai Lihua experienced the beauty of sound for the first time, and she was deeply attracted to it, and since then she has been obsessed with dancing.
She uses dance to feel the beat of music and connect with the world.
From elementary school to junior high school, Tai Lihua spends almost all of her spare time in dance studios.
She wanted to learn from the best dancers. But she couldn't hear the music, and often couldn't keep up with the beat when dancing, and fell again and again.
Tai Lihua always has injuries on her body, and her parents can't stand it and want her to give up dancing.
However, Tai Lihua's father said firmly: "A normal child has many choices, and she can only have a way out by suffering more." We can't stop her!"
When she was 15 years old, Tai Lihua went to study in a deaf and dumb high school in Wuhan.
She entered the China Disabled People's Art Troupe with her outstanding dancing talent.
The requirements of the art troupe are very strict, and many of Tai Lihua's actions are not standardized enough and were rejected by the teacher.
But Tai Lihua was not discouraged, but studied dance harder, and finally won the recognition of the teachers of the art troupe through hard work.
In 1992, 18-year-old Tai Lihua appeared on the stage of La Scala Teatro in Italy and shocked European audiences with her "Dunhuang Painted Sculptures".
At the age of 24, she performed her masterpiece "Spirit of the Sparrow" at Carnegie Hall in New York, USA.
How can a deaf dancer steal the spotlight on this star-studded world-class stage?
In 1993, Tai Lihua met a wealthy businessman while touring Malaysia, and the two fell in love at first sight.
This wealthy businessman has a love for Tai Lihua, and all the expenses are funded and supported by him.
Tai Lihua was also moved, but in the end she rejected the temptation of transnational marriage.
8 years later, the rich businessman still confessed to her, but Tai Lihua already had a heart.
In 2003, Tai Lihua chose to marry an ordinary clerk Li Chun.
At first, the two communicated through text, but later Li Chun deliberately learned sign language.
He not only takes care of Tai Lihua meticulously, but also fully supports her dance career.
Tai Lihua constantly pushes her limits.
You can see her at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games and the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Especially in 2005, "Guanyin with a Thousand Hands" performed at the Spring Festival Gala of China Central Television became famous in one fell swoop.
Since then, the name Tai Lihua has been known to everyone.
What's even more admirable is that Tai Lihua donated most of her performance income to charity, and she never forgot to help others.
Tai Lihua has spent her life interpreting what it means to be "I must do it".
Despite her own success, she has not forgotten the disabled children who are still struggling on the brink of despair.
She called for reform of the education sector to allow more children with special needs to be educated in ordinary schools.
This is undoubtedly a boon for the vulnerable.
Tai Lihua also sends a signal of hope to people with disabilities - as long as you don't give up, face it bravely, and persevere to the end, life is still very exciting.
The process may be difficult and painful, but the fruits of success will be sweeter.
Tai's story has inspired generations of people with disabilities to bounce back and regain their self-confidence.
