Istanbul-based jeweller Başak Baykal has just launched the latest season of its "Floral" collection, which is still inspired by Istanbul's natural flowers, using gold and colourful gemstones to create nearly 10 kinds of flowers, including daisies, frangipani, violets, forget-me-nots, and so on.
The brightest of the new creations is a Daisy-themed bracelet with a hinged structure and openings – the walls of the bracelet are set with round green garnets and diamonds, one end extending into a blooming daisy with delicate diamond petals and pink gemstone stamens, and the other end is hand-painted and diamond-set to create three vivid daisy leaves, creating a visual balance in the asymmetrical design.
The most ingenious design is a Mimosa yellow gold between the fingers, which is designed with a "mimosa" as an element – a round-cut pink-orange sapphire in the center of the ring that joins together to form a cluster of flower balls that seem to float between the fingers, and gold and green garnets on either side of the ring to create a delicate mimosa feather shape, as if lightly wrapped around the finger.
The two pairs of gemstone drop earrings are also eye-catching: Peace Lily earrings are themed around "white palm flowers", with two triangular-cut citrine pieces weighing nearly 12ct in the stud earrings, and two white miniature painted Buddha flame buds hanging down with brown diamond spikes, and the Forget Me Not earrings are made of 5 pear-shaped aquamarines, sapphires or pavé diamonds to create a petite blue flower "Forget-me-not", and the gemstone gradient color is full of vitality.
