Wu Xiubo is not Sima Yi after all

According to the China Enforcement Information Disclosure Network, recently, the well-known actor Wu Xiubo and his Horgos Fuji Culture Media Co., Ltd. have added information on the person subject to execution, with an enforcement target of about 466 million yuan, and the enforcement court is the Jiangsu Provincial High Court.

In this regard, Wu Xiubo posted a response on Weibo one after another. He posted the chat records and evidence of the misappropriation of crew funds by Jin, one of the investors of the crew and the general manager of Jiangsu Huali Culture Media Co., Ltd., and Zhang, the producer of "Sima Yi of the Great Military Division" and the deputy general manager of Jiangsu Huali, of embezzling the crew's funds, accusing the two of "fake contributions, real misappropriation", deliberately signing a supplementary agreement with a fake seal, and then setting up a bureau to trap him, causing him to go bankrupt.

In September 2015, Wu Xiubo established Fuji Culture, holding 99% of the shares and a registered capital of 50 million yuan. Wu Xiubo, who is also the director and the leading actor, began to produce "Sima Yi". Jiangsu Huali is one of the main investors, accounting for 50% of the investment share. Zhang offered to serve as the chief producer and served as the legal representative and general manager of Fuji Culture.

Under the operation of Zhang, Jiangsu Huali signed an agreement with Fuji Culture to transfer 45% of the investment income right to Fuji Culture "without premium".

In June 2017, "Sima Yi, the Great Military Division" became popular as soon as it was broadcast, with a broadcast volume of more than 7 billion and a revenue of nearly 1 billion yuan. According to the official Weibo "TV series Tiger Roaring Dragon", after the show was determined to be profitable, Jin arranged for Horgos Huali, which he actually controlled, to sign a "global exclusive agency distribution agreement" and a "information network communication agency distribution agreement" with Fuji Culture, stipulating that Horgos Huali has the right to share half of the profits, and the relevant agreement was signed by Jin asking Zhang for "help".

In September 2017, Jiangsu Huali demanded the proceeds from the play, but learned that the proceeds from the broadcast of "Sima Yi" in Jiangsu Radio and Television Group did not belong to Jiangsu Huali, but to another investor.

Since October 2017, Jiangsu Huali and Horgos Huali have sued another investor and Fuji Culture. After the investigation by the Yili Municipal Public Security Bureau and the evidence collected by the court, the official seal stamped in the agreement signed between Jiangsu Huali and Fuji Culture was privately forged by Zhang, the legal representative of Fuji Culture. Zhang was criminally detained for privately engraving an official seal and has not yet been released from prison.

The case of Horgos Huali against Fuji Culture was sued by the Jiangsu High Court, and Fuji Culture lost the case. In November 2023, Wu Xiubo waited for the Supreme People's Court to uphold the original judgment of the Jiangsu High Court.

Of course, whether Wu Xiubo's grievances are true or not remains to be investigated by the authorities. However, at the beginning, he agreed that Zhang should concurrently serve as the legal representative and general manager of Fuji Culture, which allowed him to take the lead in daily operations. When an investor sends someone to the investment enterprise to serve as the legal representative or general manager, which side will the investor stand on when it comes to the conflict of interests between the investor and the invested enterprise, is a major issue related to the development of the enterprise. Wu Xiubo did not have sufficient professional knowledge and experience, and at the same time, he did not establish a sound supervision mechanism, such as hiring special personnel to effectively supervise Zhang's daily operations and investment decisions, which further magnified the risks.

This can't help but remind people of "Sima Yi", which brought Wu Xiubo's acting career to the peak, but suffered from "unjustified disasters" because of it. In the vast sea of history, Sima Yi is undoubtedly a highly controversial figure. He led his army twice to successfully resist Zhuge Liang's Northern Expedition and expedition to pacify Liaodong, laying the foundation for the later unification of the Three Kingdoms. But also because of his monopoly of power, his son Sima Zhao was crowned King of Jin, overthrowing the Cao Wei royal family, and his grandson Sima Yan was called the emperor, and Cao Wei ended. Wu Xiubo successfully played Sima Yi, making this role more plump and vivid. Whether it is looking at the wolf with a hawkish look, or facing the respect and love of his wife, Wu Xiubo has shown a high level of acting skills.

The reason why Sima Yi was able to become a generation of powerful ministers was inseparable from his resourcefulness and determination. It's a pity that Wu Xiubo played Sima Yi alive, but that was just an artistic creation. In the more complex business world, Wu Xiubo does not have the power to kill and see the fire, and he cannot successfully transform from an actor to a businessman, so that he was deceived by Jin and Zhang by Chen.

And another big heel of Wu Xiubo's life is the entanglement with actress Chen Yulin back then. In September 2018, actress Chen Yulin posted a circle of friends, saying that she and married actor Wu Xiubo had been in love for seven years, and also said that Wu Xiubo cheated on actress Zhang Zhixi at the same time. In January 2019, Chen Yulin's parents issued an open letter, saying that after Chen Yulin exposed his relationship with Wu Xiubo, Wu Xiubo, his agent and lawyer asked Chen Yulin to come forward to clarify and was willing to compensate financially. On November 4, 2018, Wu Xiubo took the initiative to let Chen Yulin return to China, and the next day Chen Yulin was arrested by Wu Xiubo at the airport in the name of "exposing privacy and extorting money". Subsequently, Wu Xiubo issued a lawyer's statement, which pointed out that the content of Chen Yulin's parents' open letter was not true.

According to Sina Entertainment's report on February 18, 2021, the verdict of Wu Xiubo's extortion case by Chen Yulin was exposed. According to the verdict, Chen Yulin was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended for three years. Judging from the court's judgment, Chen Yulin's blackmail of Wu Xiubo is established. Wu Xiubo was blackmailed again and again and again before he called the police, and he didn't make a ruthless move after calling the police, otherwise it would not be a matter of probation. But Wu Xiubo's acting career also plummeted.
