Chinanews.com, Beijing, November 30 (Reporter Xing Rui) Recently, Wang Lizhi, a 63-year-old retired uncle, has become a "well-known figure" in Shenyang. Because of his amazing shooting skills, he was reported by various Davids, and he also appeared on the hot search list of social media. Alternating left-handed and left-handed shots and blindfolded shots are Uncle Wang's unique skills, and he has also been certified by Guinness and WRCA (World Records Certification Agency) for two world records.

"Basketball has changed my life, I never expected to get so much recognition and attention, and I feel blessed now. When it comes to the days after becoming involved with basketball, Uncle Wang feels fulfilled and satisfied.

Seeing Uncle Wang's shooting video, some netizens jokingly said: "Uncle's basketball seems to be equipped with navigation." In fact, before his retirement, Wang Lizhi had never been in contact with basketball. Although he also loved sports when he was young, he worked from the age of 18 to his retirement at the age of 60, and devoted most of his life to work.

After retiring from the position of machinery manufacturing a few years ago, Uncle Wang, who had free time, met a group of young people playing basketball when he was exercising in the park. "I just wanted to play with them, and then I got addicted. Shooting is a technical job and challenging, so I started to study shooting techniques. ”

Uncle Wang, who has been engaged in technical work for many years, has a strong hands-on ability, and loves to ponder and study when encountering problems. He applies this habit to his shooting as well. "Standing at the free-throw line, I think of myself as a robot, and then I think about how much force to use, what angle to use, what position to use to score in a row. After each practice, Uncle Wang will also take training notes, write down the correct posture and angle of force, and then continue to consolidate and improve.

Through an hour and a half of practice every day, Uncle Wang gradually summed up a set of efficient shooting methods, which he called "crossbow shooting methods".

"Other people's shots are three-point and one-line, and I think three-point and one-line are not accurate enough, and you have to have five points and one line to run through the shooting posture and power. Uncle Wang used the ancient weapon "crossbow" to explain this shooting method: "The crossbow evolved from the bow, and the ancients pulled the bow and shot the arrow to be difficult to aim, so they added a stick to the bow and turned it into a crossbow, and then put the arrow on the stick, which is not only convenient for aiming, but also improves the hit rate." ”

In Uncle Wang's view, the basket, the front side of the basket, the hand, the elbow, and the toes, these five points can form a line, and this line is like the stick on the crossbow.

Mastering the correct method, it only took Uncle Wang a year to achieve 100 shots with one hand. To add to the challenge, he began practicing alternating left-handed and left-handed shots and blindfolded shots again, and in 2021 broke the Guinness World Record for alternating left-handed and left-handed shots from the free-throw line, held by a basketball coach in the United States. It didn't take long for him to earn the WRCA World Record for blindfolded shots from the free-throw line.

With the passage of time, Uncle Wang's shooting skills are still improving. "Now [alternating left-handed shots] can score more than 100 in a row, and blindfolded shots can score forty or fifty in a row. Uncle Wang said proudly.

When the reporter contacted him, Uncle Wang was carefully planning a future self-driving travel plan. In order to practice shooting on the road, Uncle Wang also developed a detachable basketball hoop mounted on the car. Driving his "basketball cart", Uncle Wang planned to drive to the south first. Whether it is studying shooting skills or engaging in some "small inventions" in life, attentiveness and concentration are Uncle Wang's attitude towards life, and it is also the key for him to experience happiness and benefit a lot from basketball.

If all goes well, Uncle Wang will drive to Paris, France in March and April next year, perform shooting skills on the streets of Paris, and embrace the new world that basketball has opened for him.

He said: "I want to have some exchanges with basketball fans from the countries I pass by, and most importantly, I want to go to Paris to show our Chinese shooting skills." Uncle Wang also emphasized: "We must arrive earlier than the Chinese Olympic athletes and go over there to cheer them on." (ENDS)
