The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show FLIB opened today, attracting more than 1,300 boats and more than 1,000 exhibitors, including more than 30 electric boat and electric engine companies. Sweden's Candela electric hydrofoil will showcase its C-8 electric hydrofoil cruiser, the Polestar version with a 69 kWh battery pack and DC fast charging technology, capable of cruising at 27 knots and 2-3 times the range of conventional power boats. Scandia's E-Machine offers a compact and modular solution that integrates propulsion, inverter and power control unit into one system, providing an innovative, reliable and efficient power solution for the marine industry. Elcat's electric inflatable party boat is also a highlight, with its catamaran design that is lightweight and energy-efficient. One lucky FLIB participant will win a combination of boat, engine and trailer in the EcoBoat raffle, including a 12-foot-2" Whaly Model 370 boat equipped with an Elco EP-20TL electric outboard and a dedicated 10kWh lithium battery.
