The eighth yacht in the Amels limited edition 242 series, now officially named "Nome", was recently spotted during sea trials near Vlissingen in the Netherlands. She is now preparing for the final outfitting work ahead of delivery this summer.
The Nome owners have prioritized the appearance of the yacht, which is why the yacht has been unique in its colour scheme. She has a flag-blue hull and an oyster-white superstructure. Key figures include a beam of 12.5 meters, a draft of 3.9 meters and a top speed of 16.5 knots. She was last seen in November 2023, when she made history as one of two yachts launched on the same day from the Damen Yachts headquarters in the Dutch city of Vlissingen.
The exterior design of the Nome was designed by legendary designer Tim Heywood, while the interior design was meticulously designed by the British studio Winch Design. While maintaining the yacht's unique colour scheme, the studio has cleverly decorated the main entrance with a blue onyx stone wall, adding a touch of mystery and nobility to the yacht. On board, you can also see an array of blue marbles and blue mosaics dotted throughout the wellness area, which together create an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury.
In addition, the "Nome" has a lot of amazing facilities. There is a Jacuzzi on the owner's deck, where you can relax and enjoy the sea breeze while feeling relaxed and happy. A large aft swimming pool and ample wellness space provide more leisure and recreation options for visitors. Accommodating up to 12 guests in six cabins, each equipped with comfortable beds and modern amenities, guests will feel at home during the cruise.
In terms of performance, the "Nome" is equipped with two Caterpillar engines, which provide her with a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 16.5 knots.
According to reports, Amels currently has 12 yachts under construction, including the 120-metre fully custom Amels 120 superyacht and the first 80-metre Amels 80 superyacht, which was launched in September 2023 and has an estimated delivery date of 2025. and the seventh hull of the Amels 60 series, designed by Espen Øino, which entered the outfitting phase in February 2024.
