The 950-strong Riviera team celebrates the launch of its 6,000th yacht at the company's 16.8-hectare facility on the Gold Coast
Australian luxury yacht builder Riviera has reached an important milestone in the glorious sunshine of Queensland's Gold Coast – the delivery of its 6,000th yacht. A team of 950 elite Vieira, dressed in commemorative T-shirts, like a mighty guard of honour, witnessed this glorious moment together.
The yacht is a 5400 Platinum Edition sport yacht with an Iridium Silver shell and is about to be delivered to Peter and Dennis Haig, loyal owners from Sydney, Australia. Since owning their first 38-foot open flybridge yacht in 1988, they have become a loyal Vieira fan, with ten Vieira yachts in their family.
Speaking to the entire crew during the exciting launching of the 6,000th yacht, named "Pelara", Peter said: "We are very proud to be the owners of Vieira. We were equally happy and surprised when we received a call to learn that our yacht would be the 6,000th ship.

Since its inception in Sydney in 1980, Vieira Yachts has pursued excellence. In 1981, they moved to Labrador on the Gold Coast of Queensland, where they began their shipbuilding journey, and that year, they had built only eight yachts. After 19 years, they moved to a 16.8-hectare purpose-built factory in Kumera, which was officially opened in 2000. It remains the largest shipyard of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Today, Vieira has grown into a global business, supported by a network of expert representatives from the Americas, Europe, Asia, as well as New Zealand and Australia. They produce about 150 yachts a year, more than 60% of which are exported all over the world.

Rodney said Vieira has built more than 800 sport yachts since the launch of the first Model 3600 in 2005. In 2019, they launched the much-anticipated Platinum Edition of their sporty yacht, which has sold more than 230 units to date. This range of yachts, including the 4600, 5400 and 6000 models, has won the hearts of owners and yachting enthusiasts around the world.
