On October 16, Intel officially released the new Intel Core 14th generation desktop processor. The first six new products unveiled are all unlocked versions, with up to 24 cores and 32 threads, and a maximum turbo frequency of 6GHz.

First, the process technology
Because the Intel 4 process is still in its infancy and is difficult to use for high-frequency high-performance gaming and desktop processors, Intel Core 14th generation desktop processors still use the more mature Intel 7 process, that is, the optimized 10nm process.
In fact, the Intel Core 14th generation desktop processor is slightly optimized on the basis of the 13th generation Core, codenamed Raptor Lake Refresh, and the process and architecture are basically unchanged. Therefore, Intel Core 14th generation desktop processors still use the LGA 1700 interface, which can continue to use the previous 600/700 series motherboards, but need to upgrade to the latest BIOS before use.
Second, the first batch of 6 "K/KF" suffix unlocked versions
The first six new products unveiled are unlocked versions with the "K/KF" suffix, aimed at enthusiasts and high-end gamers, including: Core i9-14900K/KF, Core i7-14700K/KF and Core i5-14600K/KF. The difference between K and KF is that the latter does not have a HD graphics card.
Among them, the default turbo frequency of the flagship model i9-14900K reaches 6GHz, the maximum turbo frequency of the performance core is 5.6GHz, and the maximum turbo frequency of the energy efficiency core is 4.4GHz, which is better than the previous generation i9-13900KS.
The i7-14700K is the biggest improvement among the new products released this time. The performance cores remained the same at 8, but the number of energy-efficient cores increased from 8 to 12, the total number of cores increased from 16 to 20, the number of threads reached 28, and the cache size increased from 30MB to 33MB. 3. In-depth optimization of performance improvement
With the same architecture and process, Intel optimizes the performance of Intel Core 14th generation desktop processors in a variety of ways.
First, Intel Application Optimization (APO) has been added to the Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology framework, which is specifically optimized for game performance and can work with Intel's hardware thread scheduler to ensure better application threading. Games that currently support the technology are Rainbow Six: Siege and Subway: Depart.
The second is the addition of AI Assist function in Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, which can realize AI-guided one-click overclocking function on i9-14900K/KF.
