During the trip, sometimes we had to accept accommodation that would not be tolerated in ordinary life.

This is what I experienced in a small hotel in Vietnam.

This mixed-sex hotel costs only RMB 20 a night, making it a temptation for some travelers on a tight budget.

However, I would like to say that affordable accommodation does not completely obscure the fact that it does not meet basic privacy needs.

We all know that "human rights" is a very important concept that encompasses a variety of rights, including the right to privacy of individuals.

However, this guesthouse apparently ignored this.

There, the basic rules about the dignity of the individual seem to be disregarded.

Everyone has the right and the need to protect their privacy, regardless of gender.

Sharing the same space with strangers can undoubtedly be uncomfortable, especially during private moments like sleeping or changing clothes.

I strongly question whether such accommodation models are appropriate and respect the fundamental rights of everyone.

Although one might say that the issue of mixed sexes is nothing more than a clash of ideas caused by cultural differences.

But I don't think that's an excuse to sacrifice personal privacy.

Respect for the privacy of others is a globally accepted value.

In order to save money, we sometimes have to endure undesirable conditions, but these conditions must not be a matter of dignity and security.

It may take some time and effort to find an affordable and privacy-respecting accommodation during your trip, but it's worth it.

This is the grace and right we should have when we go out into the world as travelers.

The existence of this hotel in Vietnam makes us reflect on issues of social justice, human rights and dignity, and make us more aware that while pursuing material enjoyment and economic benefits, some things cannot be compromised, just like everyone's right to privacy.
