This time, 7,800 tons of nuclear-contaminated water will be dumped into the sea. The emissions plan is expected to last 17 days. It is planned to be dumped into the sea next year, and the fourth round of emissions has been completed by the end of March. A total of 40 tanks were emptied and a total of 31,200 tons of nuclear waste was discharged, a seemingly high figure but only 2.3% of expected emissions. There are more than 1000 other tanks. The nuclear-contaminated water will be gradually discharged over the next few decades.
After the first wave of emissions, Japan was strongly condemned by many countries, even the Japanese themselves opposed it, and even local people sued Kishida and Tepco for an immediate stop to emissions.
