EMU intelligent large luggage locker design

At present, taking the EMU has become a popular choice for people's travel life, and some models of EMU trains are designed with large luggage storage places and set at the end of the carriage.

But the traditional large luggage rack is a kind of ordinary railing partition, when people need to place large luggage, because the luggage is larger and heavier, the luggage will be placed on the lower deck preferentially, and the upper luggage rack is often vacant, resulting in a waste of resources.

Therefore, based on the design of the CR400BF EMU, this paper makes full use of the limited space of the vehicle to design a vertically circulating large luggage intelligent storage cabinet.

First, the overall design

Comprehensively considering the limited aisle space of the CR400BF EMU, the utilization rate of the internal space of the carriage is improved, and the vertical circulation three-dimensional storage cabinet is finally selected.

The structure is shown in Figure 1. The short-numbered CR400BF EMU train is a formation of 8 cars, and this article uses this car as the design basis, where the reference size is 25000mm car length; Body width 3360mm; The roof height from the rail surface is 4050mm.

Second, the design of the mechanical part

(1) Main support seat

The main support seat (fig. 2), as one of the main components of the automated luggage rack, is mainly used to carry the weight of the baggage and the rest of the parts and to solidify the path of the unit pallet.

Using the rear column of Figure 2 as the last part of force transmission, and also for the preliminary protection of the lower motor, gear, etc., the trajectory of the two guide rails is calculated by maximizing the space utilization of the unit pallet, and if rectification or improvement is required, it needs to be recalculated.

Its material selection alloy steel (SS), alloy steel has good plastic, toughness and strength, as well as a certain hardness, can withstand vibration and impact load, but poor cutting ability.

The parts connected to the main support seat are the transmission chain combination and the anti-tipping positioner, and the two are clearance matches with the main support seat. The drive chain is installed in combination on the internal rail, installed from the notch, and the middle roller is stuck at the middle gap;

The anti-tipping positioner is installed on the external guide rail, and the anti-tipping extension column is used to contact the guide rail to produce support and guiding effect.

(2) Drive chain seat

The drive chain seat (fig 3) is equipped with a slot that matches the roller in the drive chain combination to act as a fixation and force transmission. The installation method is to install from the notch, the middle roller is stuck at the middle gap, and the material is alloy steel (SS).

The parts connected to the drive chain are the drive chain combination, the drive chain combination is installed on the internal guide rail, installed from the notch, and the middle roller is stuck in the card slot.

(3) Anti-tipping positioner

Anti-dumping positioner (Figure 4) as the main guide component of the automatic luggage rack, the unit pallet has 3 compartments, can store luggage, this component can prevent the unit pallet from tilting, thereby affecting the machine operation, is the core component.

This part is matched with the main support base, and if it needs to be changed, the main support base needs to be changed, resulting in a chain reaction. Its material is selected from alloy steel (SS).

The component 4 columns and the main support base gap mating; The void needs to be connected to the unit tray grid cylinder after the bearing is installed, and an interference fit is used.

(4) Unit tray grid cylinder

As one of the main components of the automated luggage rack, the unit pallet grid cylinder (fig. 5) is mainly used to carry the weight transmitted by the unit pallet compartment and the power transmitted by the riser.

Due to the need to match the lifting plate and anti-roll positioner, it is necessary to install 4 bearings (2 at each end) on this component, and if it needs to be improved, the bearing housing can be added.

Its material selection AISI1020 steel material (20# steel), the material has a carbon content of 0.2%, which belongs to low carbon steel, its strength and hardness are low, and its plasticity and toughness are better. This component is over-fit with the bearing interference and over-fit with the unit tray compartment.

(5) Unit tray compartment

The unit tray compartment (fig 6) contains 3 compartments for storing luggage. Under the premise of ensuring that the load bearing and the unit pallets do not interfere with each other, the shape can be changed as needed.

In order to reduce the weight of this part and meet the maximum carrying requirements of baggage, balsa wood is used as the material of this part. The part is over-mated to the unit tray grid cylinder and must not be displacement relatively.

(6) Lifting plate

The riser (fig. 7) is a transfer power element with 3 through-holes on the surface. The 2 holes on the left side of Figure 7 are connected to the chain piercing pins in the drive chain combination, and the right hole is used to connect the unit tray cylinder. When the motor drives the chain to rotate, the left hole rotates with the chain, thus driving the unit tray grid cylinder.

(7) Drive chain combination

The drive chain combination (fig. 8) consists of two chain plates, an intermediate roller and a threading pin, and is one of the main transmission components of an automated luggage rack.

The middle roller is not only used to snap into the groove in the drive chain seat, but also to transmit the power provided by the transmission teeth, and the chain blade is made of AISI1045 steel.

The material cold plasticity is general, annealing, normalizing than tempering is slightly better, with higher strength and better machinability, after appropriate heat treatment can obtain certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance, the source of materials is convenient.

(8) Transmission tooth and transmission shaft

The function of the transmission gear and the propeller shaft (fig. 9) is to transfer the power transmitted by the motor to the transmission part of the automatic luggage carrier, which consists of two transmission teeth and a propeller shaft, and adopts an interference fit.

(9) Lifting mechanism

The lifting mechanism is mainly composed of motor, brake, two-stage planetary gear reducer, coupling, open gear and chain drive, etc., and its structural diagram is shown in Figure 10.

When it is time to access and retrieve luggage, the automatic luggage control system signals and the motor starts to rotate for the first deceleration through a two-stage planetary gear reducer.

The reducer drives the two-stage open gear to rotate through the coupling to carry out the second deceleration.

III. Concluding remarks

The design can make full use of the limited space inside the EMU body, improve the environment and conditions for large storage, and enhance the riding comfort of passengers.
