Commenting on where he will go after retiring, Handa said: "I think sooner or later I will become a coach, not a goalkeeper coach, but a coach who is responsible for all aspects. The 39-year-old joined Inter from Udinese in 2012 for a transfer fee of 15 million euros, and in his 11 years at Inter, he made a total of 455 appearances for Inter and kept 166 clean sheets.

Handa ranks 10th in Inter history in appearances and the second most foreign player in Serie A history (562), behind Zanetti (615 games, all for the Nerazzurri).
