The autumn climate is exceptionally cool, and many flowers and plants have ushered in the flowering and growing period, and the monthly flowers are no exception. Except for spring, autumn is the most rapid season for monthly flowers, and with the growth of new shoots, a large number of buds bloom almost every month. There are 4 "taboos" to raise monthly flowers in autumn, we avoid them in time for maintenance, the plant grows more vigorously, and the amount of flowers can be doubled!
1. Avoid insufficient lighting
The lunar season is a very typical sun-loving plant. How much does it like sunlight? Let's just say that even in the summer, when the sun has the strongest ultraviolet rays of the year, the moon season still does not need shade. Put it in the big sun to dry, as long as it is watered to keep up, you don't have to worry about sunburn, but it will grow very well. There is only one case in which monthly flowers need shade, and that is after a large number of flowers bloom in the monthly season. Strong light may shorten the flowering period, so in order to enjoy the flowers for a longer time, shade can be appropriate for the monthly season. In the rest of the case, give it sufficient light.
As autumn begins, the sun's ultraviolet rays gradually weaken as the temperature cools. In order to fully absorb the energy of the sun in the monthly season, be sure to put the pot in a good lighting position, preferably from morning to evening, so that the branches and leaves can absorb enough sunlight.
2. Avoid insufficient watering
Monthly flowers thrive in autumn, not only the dense leaf surface will evaporate a lot of water, but also the buds and root germination are inseparable from water. If the water is insufficient, it will seriously affect the growth of branches and flower buds, and there will be problems such as weak branches and leaves, sparse leaves, discoloration of flowers and even flower buds falling.
The root system can absorb water deep into the soil all the time, and the watering requirements are not high. However, because the roots are bound by pots in the potting season, the soil can hold limited water, so you should be very careful when watering. If the surface of the soil of the pot appears white and dry, it is necessary to water it in time.
3. Avoid insufficient fertilizer
Monthly flowers are a "fat basket", more like fertilizer than ordinary flowers, autumn is its growth period and flowering period, fertilizer can not be less. When the temperature drops below 30 degrees, we can top fertilize the monthly flowers. Choose some nutritionally balanced solid fertilizers, such as all kinds of well-rotted cow and sheep manure, soybean cake fertilizer, compound fertilizer and so on. Take a small amount of fertilizer, sprinkle on the soil surface or bury in the soil, the amount can not be too much, a small amount can be, generally 1~2 months to use once.
When you see rice-sized buds popping up from the branches in the monthly season, you should also apply some flower-promoting fertilizer to promote flowers. The flower-promoting fertilizer is mainly water-soluble fertilizer with high phosphorus and potassium content, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate, Huaduoduo No. 2, flowering plant nutrient solution and so on. According to the proportion of the instructions, mix the fertilizer into clean water, stir well to make a fertilizer liquid, use the fertilizer liquid to water the roots of the monthly flowers or spray on the branches and leaves, usually used once a week, and stop fertilizing immediately after the flowers open.
4. Do not prune
The monthly flower is a very resistant flower to pruning, and regular pruning can promote the growth of new shoots, keeping them in good condition and elegant appearance. Moreover, only new shoots can bloom in the monthly season, and if it is not pruned all the time, the old shoots take up a lot of space and consume plant nutrients, the new shoots will be reduced, and the amount of flowering in autumn will be greatly reduced.
When pruning monthly flowers, you need to use clean and sharp scissors, and it is best to bake the scissors on the fire or wipe them with alcohol before pruning. If the branches are too dense and crossed, cut off a part of the branches, so that the branches do not block each other and retain a certain space; The long shoots should be truncated; Branches such as withered branches and diseased branches are cut directly. After pruning, the right amount of fertilizer and water can be applied to the monthly flower to help it recover and grow new shoots.
