A food company in Wenchang, which has been producing coconut sugar for more than two decades, also began producing coconut water drinks this year, and the products are also in short supply.

Raw material prices have been rising
The raw materials of coconut water are mainly derived from coconuts, which are affected by the high demand for downstream consumers, and the supply of upstream raw materials is also tight, and the price is rising.

Now coconut water has changed from a leftover from coconut processing to an important profit point, which has also greatly increased the demand for coconut.

Increase imports and encourage enterprises to set up factories overseas
Seize the opportunity of "coconut water" consumption
In order to meet the demand for coconut products in the domestic consumer market, Hainan has increased its imports of coconuts this year, while some enterprises have also begun to set up factories overseas to expand the territory of the coconut industry.
In February this year, Hainan Yangpu Port imported a batch of fresh coconut green from Thailand, and as of July, a total of about 1,200 tons were imported, and the overall import volume of coconut is increasing.
Jiang Yifeng, deputy director of the Yangpu Customs Supervision Department under Haikou Customs: From January to July this year, Hainan Port imported 330,000 tons of coconuts, an increase of 13.6% year-on-year, with a value of about 550 million yuan, mainly from Vietnam and Indonesia.
In order to reduce logistics and raw material costs, some companies have also begun to set up factories in Southeast Asia, which produces more coconut.
