On May 30, 2023, seven ministries and commissions, including the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, jointly released the second batch of "Spiritual Education Bases for Scientists" list. 147 units, including Peking University Chemical Scientist Spiritual Education Base and Tsinghua University History Museum, were selected.

China Arctic Pavilion Meteorological Museum is located in Nanjing Xuanwu District Arctic Pavilion, completed in 2010, covers an area of 1200 square meters, is the first meteorological professional museum in China, is committed to promoting the spirit of scientists through meteorological history and culture display and science education activities, stimulating the audience's interest and enthusiasm for learning.
Entering the indoor hall, you can see the pens and inkstones and glasses used by Zhu Kezhen, the founder of Chinese meteorology. Zhu Kezhen was the first director of the Institute of Meteorology, and in May 1937, under his chairmanship, the Meteorological Committee agreed to petition the National Government to establish the China Meteorological Administration, and launched the Chinese Meteorological Society with the Gaolu Organization, which began a new journey in China's meteorological research.
Over the past 10 years, the museum has received 100,000 offline visitors and more than 1.5 million online visitors. It is not only the first national meteorological museum in China, but also a national science popularization education base, a provincial science popularization education base, a provincial patriotism education base, a national primary and secondary school student research and practice education base, a big ideological and political course practice education base, and a scientist spiritual education base.
The museum protects and collects important materials and documents in meteorological history and culture, displays the rich exhibition content of natural landscape and meteorological history and culture, and systematically displays major meteorological historical events, the evolution of meteorological instruments, the changes of meteorological institutions and the blueprint for the development of meteorological science and technology through four major parts of ancient meteorology, modern meteorology, contemporary meteorology and modern meteorological science and technology exhibition halls, condensing and introducing thousands of years of splendid history of Chinese meteorological civilization.
